Board of Appeals Minutes - June 25, 1997 1 <br /> Harwich Concrete Block -Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-25.E.8 and 174- <br /> 51.C of the Zoning By-laws to allow the outside storage of building materials and <br /> alteration to an existing sign on property located in a C-2 zoning district at 544 Main St. <br /> (Map 20, Block 24)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: Christopher S. Cushman, TR. <br /> J.W.F. Trust). <br /> k <br /> Members sitting: J. Regan, C. Hawver, R. Nelson <br /> Mr. Govoni stepped down and left the meeting. Mr. Nelson stated that the applicant <br /> would be required to have plans with an engineer's signature. Mr. Hauck explained that <br /> the Design Review Committee did not have a quorum to review the plans but they require <br /> that trees of a certain caliper be planted and that the storage behind the fence be kept <br /> lower than the height of the trees. <br /> Ms. Hawver moved to continue the hearing to July 23 so that stamped plans can be <br /> submitted and Design Review can make final decisions. Mr. Nelson asked that the size <br /> and type of trees be fisted for the Board review. Mr. Regan seconded the motion. All <br /> agreed. <br /> Sidney Heimberg, a Trustee of the Sturgis Landing Trust, said he represented abutters <br /> and was concerned that the huge diesel trucks which park at the site keep their engines <br /> running which cause fumes and noise. He said he had spoken to Mr. Wickstrom of <br /> Harwich Concrete Block and Mr. Wickstrom suggested they require the trucks to turn off <br /> their engines when in the yard and agreed to have a sign requesting this. He said they were <br /> also interested in knowing what kind of trees would be planted. Mr. Nelson explained that <br /> the plan shows pine trees. <br /> Deer Crossing sociates - Italian Market -L.L.R.C. Inc. -Request a Modification to <br /> Special Permit 96-3 under Sections 174-25.E.2, 174-25.H.6 and 174-25.1.10 of the <br /> Zoning By-laws to allow the use of an existing patio for seasonal outdoor dining as an <br /> accessory use to an eat-in delicatessen and market. The applicant also requests to amend <br /> the approved landscape plan and rear parking area on property located in a C-1 zoning <br /> district at 681 Falmouth Road (Map 81,Block 23)Mashpee, MA. The site is Building A <br /> of Deer Crossing. <br /> Members sitting: J. Regan, C. Hawver, M. Makunas <br /> Mr. Nelson noted that there was a typographical error in the Public Hearing Notice and <br /> that the application was submitted under three sections of 174-25. <br /> Attorney Robert Mills represented the applicant and presented plans of the existing site <br /> conditions including the dining patio and three additional parking spaces in the rear. He <br /> informed the Board that the dining patio will be used for eight tables of four and that <br /> access to the patio will be from the store only.
