Board of Appeals Minutes -May 28, 1997 2. <br /> Winona Hendricks: said she was a Wampanoag and was opposed because the proposed <br /> Indian village would be in back of it and was concerned with truck traffic on Route 130. <br /> Mr. Govoni reviewed the maps to determine the Town land referred to. <br /> Saeed Chaudry: owner of the Country Store adjacent to the property said he was <br /> concerned because he thought it would hurt small business. <br /> Dana Leahy: a friend of Saeed Chaundry said the Dunkin' Donuts would hurt his <br /> business. <br /> Mr. Govoni explained that no one from the Town had commented on the proposed <br /> historical district and this has not been presented to Town Meeting. The Board had <br /> received comments from Town Planner T. Fudala concerning the trees on the property <br /> and objecting to the internally lit sign. He said the Board can only look at zoning and this <br /> has been zoned for commercial use with a Special Permit. Mr. Regan said he thought the <br /> traffic issue was valid. Mr. Makunas asked if a traffic light was planned for this <br /> intersection. <br /> Mr. Kirrane stated that the driveway was over 100 feet from the intersection of Great <br /> Neck Road North and Route 130 and that the existing market was in a much more <br /> precarious location. He said there would be clear visibility in entering and exiting the site. <br /> A member of the audience, William Farrington, asked if the audience voted and Mr. <br /> Govoni explained that the Board of Appeals was responsible for the decision. <br /> Mr. Kirrane said the plan will generate 10-12 jobs, it is commercially zoned and the <br /> applicant has planned a Cape Cod style building. He said the Town has no plan for this <br /> area and has the option of acquiring that property and taking it out of public use. Mr. <br /> Govoni moved to continue the hearing to June 25, Mr. Regan seconded, All agreed. <br /> Harwich Concrete Block -Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-25.E.8 and 174- <br /> 51.0 of the Zoning By-laws to allow the outside storage of building materials and <br /> alteration to an existing sign on property located in a C-2 zoning district at 544 Main St. <br /> (Map 20,Block 24)Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: Christopher S. Cushman, TR. <br /> J.W.F. Trust). <br /> Members present: E. Govoni, J. Regan, C. Hawver, R. Nelson, M. Makunas <br /> Cliff Wickstrom of Harwich Concrete Block said he had hoped to go before Design <br /> Review but did not have time. Mr. Govoni said the Board needed an engineering plan and <br /> Mr. Wickstrom said he had contacted an engineer but was not able to locate the original <br /> pians. He said the existing fence is 4' within the lot line. Mr. Govoni said the Board <br /> would need an engineering and landscaping plan by the June 25 meeting. Mr. Govoni <br /> moved to continue the hearing to June 25, Ms. Hawver seconded. All agreed. <br />
