TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Minutes <br /> Wednesday, March 26, 1997 <br /> The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting on Wednesday, March 26, 1997 at 7:30 <br /> P.M. at the Mashpee Town Hall, Board Members present were Edward M. Govoni, <br /> Chairman; James E, Regan III, Vice-Chairman; Cheryl A. Hawver, Clerk and Associate <br /> Members Robert G, Nelson, Richard T. Guerrera, Tames M. Dorgan and Michael A. <br /> Makunas, William F. Hauck,Building Inspector and Russell Wheeler, Asst. Building <br /> Inspector, were in attendance. Mr. Govoni called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br /> Deer Crossing- World,Gom -R. Cappozolli of Deer Crossing requested a revision in the <br /> plans for the expansion of Building C. at Deer Crossing to redesign the gable end of the <br /> building to accommodate a sign. Mr. Govoni moved to grant the minor modification to <br /> Special Permit 97-06 to change the referenced pians to plans of Annino Associates dated <br /> March 21, 1997. Ms, Hawver seconded. Mr. Regan agreed. <br /> Dick&Effie's Flea Markst - Albert Wiseman, Manager - Requests a renewal of Section 4 <br /> of the Modification of Special Permit 96-31. Section 4 states that: 'No structures of a <br /> permanent nature are to be constructed, erected, or caused to be placed on the property <br /> used in connection with the flea market. Merchandise, equipment, banners and other gear <br /> for use in connection with the Flea Market are to be removed at the conclusion of each <br /> day's operation. Any poles which are to be used by the applicant to support tents are not <br /> to be considered structures for the purposes of this permit and canopies and tent sides <br /> used on these poles may remain overnight for the (1997) season. All tent canopies and <br /> sides are to be of uniform color. This condition is subject to renewal before the opening <br /> of the 1997 season." The Flea Market is located in a C-1 zoning district at 650 Falmouth <br /> Road (Map 81, Block 4)Mashpee,MA. (Owner of record: Charles M. Talanian, TR) <br /> Members sitting E. Govoni, C, Hawver, R. Nelson <br /> Albert Wiseman represented the Flea Market. Mr. Govoni reviewed a letter from <br /> Executive Secretary Robert Whritenour regarding police duty and a barrier gate at one of <br /> the entrances as well as litter at the site. Mr. Wiseman said they try to pick up the debris <br /> on a daily basis and they will put up a gate opposite the entrance to Deer Crossing <br /> Condominiums which will be closed at 10 A.M. Mr. Govoni stated that the Police Chief <br /> has recommended that a police officer be employed from 9 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday <br /> of each weekend from June 28 to August 31 and, in addition, an officer should be hired on <br /> Memorial Day weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25 and on Saturday and <br /> Sunday of the Columbus Day weekend, October 11 and October 12 and on Friday, July 4. <br />
