i <br /> John Cahalane stated that the second sentence of the last paragraph in the original cover letter to <br /> the RFQ document had been corrected as follows: The Board of Select'm'en shall award a <br /> contract after interview and selection from short listed firms by a recommendation of the Human <br /> Services Committee. <br /> Janes Long stated that the RFP sub-committee was made up of Janice Walford, Ruth Elias, Gall <br /> Wilson and himself. James Long stated that the RFQ document incorporated east about everything <br /> that was in the RFP. Torn Mayo stated that the RFP would be published on the town website, and <br /> in the state's Central Register. companies who meet the qualifications and are interested in <br /> submitting a proposal will contact the Town Manager's office. The cutoff date for receipt of RFPs is <br /> set for October 11, 2012, <br /> Ruth Elias stated that the sub-committee had reviewed the RFQ and had some changes to submit. <br /> John Cahalane explained that no changes to the document should be made, as it is a standard <br /> union-negotiated document and any change would require involvement with the unions and <br /> collective bargaining. <br /> Jaynes Long made a motion that the Human Services Committee accept the report submitted by the <br /> RFP sub-committee. John Cahalane seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously - <br /> approved. <br /> ADDITIONAL TOPICS <br /> Mashpee Enterprise bequest. Ruth Elias reported receipt of a call from the Enterprise <br /> Managing Editor, requesting that a reporter from the paper be invited to attend the Committee}s <br /> meeting today in order to report on the discussion regarding the RFP, Ms. Elias stated that she <br /> declined the request, explaining that it would be a preliminary discussion and therefore such an <br /> article would be premature. The editor requested that he be Dept informed of the RFP <br /> progress, and the committee members agreed that it would be beneficial to have news <br /> coverage of the RFP progess at the appropriate time. <br /> Human Services coordinator office Phone coverage. Janes Long confirmed that the <br /> Human Services volunteer was not covering the coordinator's incoming phone messages. It <br /> was noted that a portion of the message on the phone states that if it is an emergency, the <br /> caller should either go directly to an emergency room or contact 911. Gail Wilson dad mare <br /> arrangements with her ongoing clients to transfer their contacts to an interim counselor until her <br /> return from medical leave. Torry Mayo stated that he will research the options for forwarding <br /> client calls to an appropriate alternate source: and will Keep Ruth Elias informed of his findings. <br /> Town Manager Ernails to Human Services committee chairman. Tori Mayo will inform the <br /> Town Manager's office that Ruth Elias is the newly elected chairman of the Human Services <br /> Committee and is the appropriate recipient of emails from the Town Manager. <br /> Christmas Parade Float Theme for 2012. John cahalane reported that the float theme for this <br /> year's Christmas Parade will be the Spirit of Giving, and will be tied into the various charities <br /> supported by the Iashpee Human Services, such as the Food Pantry} Toys for Tots, etc. <br /> Products used in the building of the floats will be donated to the chanty represented. <br /> Next Food Pantry Drive. The committee agreed to concentrate efforts on advertising coverage <br /> for the next Food Pantry Drive to be held at the November election, which will draw 85% of the <br /> voters to the polls. The committee will forego efforts to have a Food Pantry Drive at the <br /> September~ primary, which traditionally experiences a much smaller voter turnout. <br /> Tribal WIC officer Janice Walford reported that the Wampanoag Tribe now has a WIC office. <br /> Ms. Walford recommended that the I ashpee Hunan Services office coordinate with the Tribe to <br /> arrange hours available at different times in order to provide the maximum coverage of WI <br /> services. <br /> 2 <br />
