Board of Appeals Minutes - May 27, 1992 2 . <br /> Engineer Michael McGrath represented the applicant and reviewed <br /> plans of an existing pier, ramp and float which had been approved <br /> by the Division of Waterways in 1968. He said the float was <br /> unstable. He said the Conservation agent was opposed to <br /> expanding the width and that the Shellfish Warden had agreed <br /> to a four foot extension in the length. Mr. McGrath asked to <br /> amend the plans to an 8 ' x 24 ' float and the installation of <br /> four piles. <br /> Mr. Govoni moved to grant the Special Permit for an 8 ' x 24 ' <br /> float and installation of four piles. Mr'. Makunas seconded. <br /> All agreed. Mr. Friel requested revised signed plans . <br /> George Gillmore - Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174- <br /> 25 .B. 4, 174-25.G. 5, 174-25.G.6, 174-25.G. 9 and 174-25.H. 6 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for permission to operate a heavy marine <br /> contracting business in an I-1 zoning district on property <br /> located at 37 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 10) Mashpee, MA. Holmes TRS. ) <br /> George Gillmore - Requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for permission to vary the front yard setback <br /> requirements in an I-1 zoning district on property located at <br /> 37 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 10) Mashpee, MA. (Owner of <br /> record: Stephen P. & Philip R. Holmes TRS) . <br /> Members sitting: J. Friel, Psi. Makunas, E. Govoni <br /> Douglas Cameron of Braman Engineering represented the applicant <br /> and presented revised plans which included landscaping. He <br /> said the property is located on Bowdoin Road opposite Botello' s. <br /> He said the variance was required in front setback to allow <br /> more rear yard storage of heavy equipment. He explained that <br /> Mr. Gillmore builds docks and would be storing wood and piles. <br /> There will be fencing around property. Mr. Makunas questioned <br /> if the Design Review Committee had approved the final plan and <br /> Mr. Cameron confirmed that they had asked for the revised plan. <br /> Mr. Govoni asked if any traps or drains were planned and Mr. <br /> Gillmore said the Board of Health preferred no drains. Mr. <br /> Friel asked to review the purchase and sale agreement on the <br /> land. There was discussion that the 150 ' setback on Bowdoin <br /> Road may be reduced at Town Meeting. Mr. Gillmore said no <br /> chemicals would- be stored outside. <br /> Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit and the Variance <br /> subject to confirmation of approval from the Design Review <br /> Committee. Mr. Govoni seconded. All agreed_ Mr. Friel asked <br /> for original signatures on plans. <br />
