Board of Appeals Minutes - May 15, 1991 3.
Don Gessnez - asked not to take more land from the use of the boatyard
and said it was needed for boats.
Elias McQuaid, Mashpee Health Agent - explained that the Board of
Health had postponed the original hearing until the application
had been reviewed by the Cape Cod Commission and asked for a copy
of memo answering the concerns of the Board of Health.
Manuel Gonsalves - asked what could be done to recover gas fumes.
Mr. Connolly said there would not be any gas spilling by taking
a boat out of a rack since engines are not running.
Virginia Landry - said that there had been discussion at the Cape
Cod Commission hearing of providing rest rooms for the transient
people using the boatyard and suggested facilities be available.
Mr. Connolly responded that there is one rest room in the house
and two self-contained toilets which do not leach and are pumped
by the Bouse House.
Steven Perry - said headway has been made in a positive way but
people may still have questions.
Kay Perry - said she hoped that when the Board read letters they
would pay more attention to those who live in the area. She said
she did not think anyone was against the rack storage itself but
the way it was done.
K. Thibeaut - said she had a list of residents opposed and asked
if it could be submitted to the Board. Ms. Hawver said list could
be submitted.
Mr. Makunas said the Board had been notified by an abutter's attorney,
William Henchy, that he could not be present and asked for a continuance.
The Board suggested that Mr. Henchy be allowed to address the Board
in written form and to allow Mr. Connolly to respond.
Mr. Hanrahan moved to take the application under advisement and
to allow Mr. Henchy to submit a written statement and the Burtis'
attorney to respond. Mr. Makunas seconded. All agreed.
Minutes - Mr. Makunas moved to accept the minutes of the April 24,
1991 meeting. Ms. Hawver seconded. All agreed.
Discussion - The Board reviewed two requests for opinions on zoning
and discussed land opposite Summerfield Park which had been changed
from Industrial to Residential.
Elinor Walsh
