TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> Minutes <br /> April. 10, 1991 <br /> The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting at 7:30 P.M. on <br /> Wednesday, April 10, 1991 at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board Members <br /> present and acting throughout were: Cheryl A. Hawver, Chairman; <br /> Michael A. Makunas, Vice-Chairman; William J. Hanrahan, Clerk; and <br /> Associate Members Edward M. Govoni, John J. Friel and B. Thomas <br /> Christian. Building Inspector Douglas S. Boyd was in attendance. <br /> Ms. Hawver called the meeting to order at 7:33 P.M. <br /> Patrick L. Ball - requests a Variance from Section 174-31 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for permission to vary the front setback requirement <br /> in an R-5 zoning district on property located at 18 Pequot Road <br /> (Map 29, Block 91) Mashpee, MA. (Owner of record: Richard K. Snedker) . <br /> Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br /> Attorney Frederick Grosser represented the applicant. He explained <br /> that the property had been purchased at auction and a new survey <br /> showed that one of the front setbacks on a corner lot was short <br /> 10" of the 40' requirement. An earlier survey of the land had recorded <br /> the setback at 41'61'. <br /> Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Variance due to the hardship <br /> of an inaccurate plan. Mr. Hanrahan seconded. All agreed. <br /> Purity Supreme d/b/a Purity - Requests a Special Permit under <br /> Section 174-51.D of the Zoning By-laws for permission to replace <br /> the Angelo's sign in a C-1 zoning district on property located at <br /> Mashpee Commons, Route 28 and Route 151 (Map 74, Block 20) Mashpee, <br /> MA. (Owner of record: Fields Point Ltd. Partnership) . (Agent: <br /> Owen Tegan Assoc. Inc.) <br /> Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br /> Hazel. Hopkins represented the applicant. She informed the <br /> B pard that Purity had obtained an earlier permit to change the <br /> sign and the work had not been done. Purity now wishes to remove <br /> the Angelo's lettering and replace it with Purity and a logo. The <br /> sign will be illuminated with a .fluorescent tube inside a shield. <br /> The total size is 83.75 sf and is smaller than the one approved <br /> in 1988. Mr. Boyd stated that the sign has been approved by Design <br /> Review. <br /> Mr. Hanrahan moved to grant the Special Permit. Mr. Makunas <br /> seconded. All agreed. <br />
