r
Board of Appeals Minutes - March 13, 1991 3.
!!f
1
Discussion - Leno Mendes III
Mr. Mendes said his father had been granted a Special Permit to
operate a glass shop on Route 130. The permit was filed in 1983.
Mr. Makunas explained that the permit was granted to replace automobile
glass and it was never a general automobile repair shop. At the time
the lot was zoned C-2. This zoning was changed to R-5.
Mr. Mendes now wishes to sell used cars. Mr. Friel explained
that this would be a change of use and is not allowed in an R-5
zoning district.
Mr. Makunas explained that zoning had been changed at Town
Meeting and that only the glass shop is grandfathered. Mr. Boyd
referred to a letter he had written to Mr. Mendes stating that he
would have to go to Town Meeting to have the zoning changed back
to C-2. If this was done, he could then apply to the Board of
Appeals for a Special Permit to sell used cars.
Minutes - Mr. Friel moved to accept the minutes of the meeting
of February 13, 1991. Mr. Govoni seconded. All agreed.
Mr. Govoni moved to adjourn at 9:10 P.M. Mr. Friel seconded.
All agreed.
Elinor Walsh
