In order to help defray costs, <br /> she asked for ars opportunity to work with local businesses in the <br /> community to help sponsor the yearbook. Mrs. Cook suggested <br /> obtaining a cr <br /> leal inion, Mrs. Trills expressed cork <br /> � ern over <br /> possibly four schools soliciting businesses for money for a non- <br /> educational book. Mr. MacDonald will obtain a legal opinion. <br /> At this point, Mrs. cook asked perrnission of the Committee to <br /> move up the following issues. The Committee agreed. <br /> 7.8 PALMS Leadership Bob_ Baily - Mr. Bailer gave an <br /> overview of the history and goals of the Partnerships Advancing the <br /> Learning of Mathematics and Science 'ALAS) program. He said <br /> he has had much success- in this method of teaching and would <br /> like to continue it. He asked for a School Committee member to <br /> serve on the PALMS Leadership team. IIs. Macdonald will be on <br /> this committee. Mr-. Bailer asked for a letter stating the School <br /> committee"s support in beeping the PALMS Leadership team on- <br /> going. Mr. MacDonald will write a letter stating this. <br /> 9.1 Janet Trask - High school Science Fair - High School science <br /> teacher Janet Trask informed the Committee regarding the <br /> upcoming Science Fair to be Meld on February 27, 1999 from 9:00 <br /> a.m.-12:00 noon in the high school gymnasium. This is the first <br /> year for a higher (varsity) level of student participation. <br /> Mrs. cook mentioned the upcoming budget meeting for January <br /> 13th. Due to a Unit A negotiations session meeting at :oo .m•, <br /> the budget meeting time was rescheduled for 7:45 p.m. that <br /> evening. _ <br /> IV. Ac wl 1 .. 4.1 Fall Sports Awards - Mrs. cook noted the following students <br /> mems for their efforts in fail sports: <br /> Patriot League All-Stars: <br /> Steve Bohmfalk - boys soccer <br /> Courtney O'Connor - girls soccer <br /> Megan Walsh and Keri Miceli - field hockey <br /> Katie Martin - cross country <br /> Nick Avitabile -- football <br /> Patriot League Sportsmanship Awards-, <br /> Ma h ee girls soccer team <br />
