■ <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - SEPTEMBER 2, 1999 PAGE 2 <br /> • MIAA Silver Awards (for team GPA 2.5 to 3.0) were given to the <br /> boys' and girls" tennis, track, Varsity and JV baseball, and ,JV <br /> Softball. <br /> 5 <br /> • girls' varsity softball team qualified for the MIAA State <br /> Tournament. <br /> • Steve Miceli- Patriot League champion in the 1 00-meter clash <br /> • Robert Dias-Patriot League champion in the high jump. <br /> In summary, Mashpee High School won eight Joseph Masi <br /> sportsmanship Awards; sixteen players were named to the <br /> Patriot League All-Star teams; six teams moron MIAA Gold <br /> Awards; twelve teams on the MIAA Silver Awards; one torn <br /> participated in the MIAA State Tournament. <br /> .3 Ouashnet River School Grade 5 Poetry Publications - Three <br /> uashnet River Grade 5 students had their poems published in the <br /> Anthology of Fifth Grade Poetry book. They were Arthur Bouvier, <br /> Kerry Hanrahan, and Charlene DePaolo. <br /> 4.4 Cape Cod Connect Mashpee High School Technology <br /> Open House - Kudos to the school department for its participation <br /> in the Cape Cod Connect 1 lashpee High School Technology open <br /> House on dune 11th. <br /> 4.5 Joy �Blackwood and Karen MuMhy — Flag_ Painting <br /> ( uashnet School - Mrs. Lynch acknowledged the beautiful work <br /> t the Quashnet Schools' entry. <br /> 4.6 John Williams' Farewell- - Mrs. Lynch thanked Linda <br /> Catalina and Allyson Poclnett for their work for High School <br /> Principal John Williams' farewell party. <br /> 4.7 Ki anis Club Donation _$1,000 _(Special- Education <br /> Thanks to the Kiwanis Club for their donation of $1,000 for the <br /> special education summer program. <br /> 4.8 Educational Foundation - $1,000—...ISummer �School <br /> Thanks for the Educational Foundation for the $1,000 donation to <br /> the 1999 Summer School program. <br /> V. Communications There were no communications this evening. <br /> vI. Student Advis-ory There was no representative this evening. <br /> CouncH <br /> Mr. Fluery thanked the School Committee who were able to attend <br /> the new staff luncheon that was held on September I t. He also <br /> invited then to the 'First Day Back" orientation on September 7th. <br /> DTII. Report of the 7.1 Personnel- Mr. Fluery updated the Committee on staffing <br /> Superintendent at the high school and elementary schools. He stated we are within <br /> the budget for staffing. <br />
