MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER , 1999 PAGE <br /> Grounds: <br /> * Many of the contracted items for the grounds throughout the <br /> system were not performed over the summer. Mr. Cook has <br /> taken steps to rectify this situation. <br /> • High levels of iron in the irrigation well caused staining on the <br /> sidewalks and building exterior. Mr. Cook has sent a water- <br /> sample to Barnstable county for analysis. if the iron is below <br /> PPM, a neutralizing system can be added. The results should <br /> e in the first week of September. <br /> • Athletic fields are set up for all sports. <br /> Coombs school Rooftop Units: <br /> * he engineering consultant will be deciding on the type of <br /> corrective action for the IVC rooftop units. The choices are to <br /> retrofit the existing units or replace therm completely. 'there <br /> will be no cost to the school system for this work. <br /> School Year Cleanirr <br /> • Mr. Cook has scheduled Lisa Cooper to return for a final in- <br /> service for the custodians before school commences. The <br /> custodians will have hands-ori training for the new equipment <br /> and improved efficiency. <br /> 7.5 Y2o o Budget Review -- Mr. McCown discussed the <br /> "Abstract of Budget Preparation Adoption schedule for F20 1" <br /> which listed activities and due dates. <br /> Mr. F'luery reiterated the continued support received from th <br /> Board of Selectmen- and Finance Committee. He reported the <br /> Finance Committee had voted 4-2 in favor supporting the $500,000 <br /> from free cash at the October 4th'town Meeting. <br /> Mrs. Lynch suggested placing "Previous Year'sExpenditures" on <br /> the monthly budget printouts. Also, Mr. McCown will provide <br /> monthly grant reports. <br /> VIII.
