Comments
'Halter Yarosh commented there is too much signage on the front—
jamming a lot of signage in a small area.
Walter said the presentation is erect butjust too much o there. He
Ulla
said BY-Law allows 62 square feet of signage front; applicant has 160
square feet of signage*
Suggested putting bowling pin off at corner then people would no where
lane side entrance is.
Awnings being used as a sign.
• Walter noted there is a lot of area on the side of the building to pint The
Lanes signage, rather than puffing all the signage on the small frontage.
Paul Luszcz said Z A aggregated the total and approved front signage.
+ Jeffrey Moore stated that originally there was not going to be a front
entrance...only a side entrance. Now they are going to use the front
entrance and when your walk into the vestibule the-hostess will be
pds tior a crosshairs from the front and the center. Wafter stressed that
people going through the front will have to pass through the bar. He noted
some parents would drop children off- front entrance if they we
unaware of side-entrance directly into the Lanes. Jeffrey Moore pointed
out that eventually there will be outside seating at the side entrance and
people will be passing through as done at Ilashpee Commons sites noir.
Paul Luszcz noted the challenge is to advertise that it is both a bistro and
bowling since people are not familiar with that concept.
.Jonathan Furbush said-he-had reservations from the-start,- He said he -
wants to see them do well but there is a By-Law and.it is there for very
good reason. He said he would like to see some sort of compromise.
Paul Luszcz said ether than structural issues he could see moving pin to
the corner where the blade sign is shown.
Both Jeffrey Moore and Paul.Luszcz strongly agreed that the name has to
be on the front.. Walter said the problem is that 25% of the frontarea is
signage, whi h is 24112 times what is allowed. Walter suggested perhapsthey could put"The Lanes" on one line and "Bistro" underneath that.
Jonathan said !halter has very valid points. Jonathan said he was
concerned and he thinks if they can rove around a little vire can reach
some sort of compromise. He likes moving the pin to the corner.
Charlie Maintanis commented it is unfortunate location for the size of the
building. Charlie did agree with moving the pin.
Paul Luszcz advised that none of the signs are built.
Conclusions
Paul Luszcz amenable to moving pin to corner and removing decorations
from the awnings. Awnings look good.,.changing to-yellow cuts signage
down.
Jonathan...No problem if they move pin- o corner.
