She
indicated that of that 1%, there was $88,050 left. If the
lifeguards were funded then there is $38,050 left. This is $42,800
to set aside for the future with funding lifeguards. Mr. Vaccaro
asked whether they could tap into this for ECODEV? There was
$13 ,000 taken from there for the Town Planner. Both Boards agreed
on $10,000 for ECODEV.
SCHOOL
FinComm is recommending $5,515,000 . Selectmen are recommending
$5,558,000. The difference is the excess Falmouth tuition of
approximately $43 ,000. Mr. Vaccaro felt that it should be applied
to the school's budget. Ms. Greelish felt that FinComm's
recommendation is a very reasonable amount. Ms. Caffyn mentioned
that she is comfortable with 5..5 million. Ms. Caffyn also felt
that it should be the taxpayers who decide upon every day/full time
kindergarten.
The article from Conservation was discussed which requests an
administrative clerk. The position is actually a senior clerk. It
was felt that the person in this position should remain a senior
clerk and the figure be changed from $62,565 to $62 ,190 rather than
changing the name of the position.
The Selectmen also showed their disapproval regarding the stipend
request for the Assessors.
Mr. Vaccaro stated that in his opinion the only place that the two
Boards were really apart was regarding the School. Mr. Costa also
stated that he was a little concerned on how the school shuffles
its monies.
ARTICLES
FinComm was opposed to the Leisure Services article.
FinComm would only go along with the Senior Clerk request for the
Conservation Department.
At this point Mr. Whritenour explained that Personnel would like to
have a meeting with the Finance Committee.
FinComm requested a job description for the DPW Director regarding
Article 21 . The Selectmen voted 3-1 in favor of approving this
article.
FinComm stated that they would wait to discuss Article 22 if
Personnel wanted the courtesy of a meeting to discuss their
Articles.
