RUNOFF MITIGATION FOR TOWN ROAD REDEVELOPMENT <br /> AND CONVERSION OF PRIVATE ROADS TO TOWN ROADS <br /> COPIED FROM SECTION IX OF SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS <br /> J. ` Storm Water Management <br /> 1. Storm water shall be managed for all streets and roadways by the use of catch <br /> basins, manholes, pipe, culverts, headwalls, low impact design, infiltration, <br /> detention or retention facilities, sediment control, nutrient control for ground <br /> water or any combination of the above which is most compatible with particular <br /> site conditions and which conforms with other storm water requirements of the <br /> Town of Mashpee. <br /> 2. Details for the construction of storm water facilities shall be as depicted in the <br /> appropriate templates at the end of these regulations to the extent possible <br /> within the existing road layout. <br /> 3. Where they are used in the design, catch basins shall be provided on both <br /> sides of the roadway at intervals of not more than 300 feet, and at low points <br /> and sags in the roadway, and at the corners of the roadway at intersecting <br /> streets. <br /> 4. Infiltration systems, bio-retention areas and other such designs shall be <br /> protected during construction by the use of hay bales, silt fence, temporary <br /> berms, sediment traps or other measures designed to prevent the buildup of <br /> sediment and failure of the system. Should any system be found to be <br /> contaminated during the construction phase by sediment for any reason, it,shall <br /> be corrected 00 k 1 <br /> 5. ' All drainage systems shall be designed so as to reduce the impacts of nutrients, <br /> especially nitrogen and phosphorus, to the ground water. Methods to be <br /> employed shall include overland flow over vegetated areas, bio retention areas <br /> and swales, natural drainage patterns or other recognized means prior to <br /> conveyance to any infiltration device. <br /> 6. Drainage systems for streets shall be designed so as to provide adequate <br /> removal of runoff and to prevent pavement flooding <br />
