Environmental Oversight Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> March 13, 2008 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Review of Action Items: (continued) <br /> 8) Santuit Pond: <br /> Mr. Myers will be requested to follow-through with the Selectmen's <br /> action to request the,Cape Cod Commission assist in the development <br /> of an RFP that would support the review of algae/phosphorus problem <br /> in Santuit Pond. It was noted the Mashpee Cable and Advanced <br /> Technology Board will be requested to fund an automated water <br /> quality device to provide more specific data on the pond condition. <br /> 9) Land Steward Program: <br /> As previously noted, the kick-off program was held on March 3, 2008. <br /> To date there are 40 volunteers. <br /> 10)Stormwater Biofilter: <br /> The stormwater biofilter is intended to be installed in a specific area <br /> along Route 151. The evaluation is awaiting proper conditions to <br /> obtain optimum"first flush" and other water samples. <br /> 11)Technology Applications: <br /> It was agreed that David Delvecchio would be consulted regarding the <br /> use of IT cameras as previously discussed. <br /> 12)Recycling: <br /> Ms. Laurent would be consulted.regarding the results of this past <br /> year's recycling activities for a public service announcement. <br /> It was noted the corrugated cardboard would be moved to a more <br /> accessible location this spring. Additional signage at the Transfer <br /> Station would advertise that a sticker is not required to recycle. <br /> The MEC is sponsoring a pay-as-you-throw program on the local <br /> community access channel that will be aired in the next few weeks. <br />
