6 <br /> Environmental Oversight Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> April 10, 2008 <br /> Review of Action Items: <br /> It was agreed the Action Items would be re-evaluated and prioritized for <br /> ease of review. <br /> Ashumet Pond: <br /> It was noted the Board of Selectmen voted to not participate in the <br /> Department of the Air Force—Ashumet Pond Monitoring Program. <br /> Under the program,the Town would have been reimbursed$47,004 for <br /> the monitoring and sampling of Ashumet Pond. <br /> Selectman Green is seeking alternate strategies to address the Ashumet <br /> Pond sampling. <br /> Combine Water/Sewer: <br /> It was suggested the EOC focus on combining the Sewer Commission and <br /> Water District after the May Town Meeting. Representatives of the Sewer <br /> Commission will be invited to attend the May meeting. It was noted that <br /> Stearns&Wheler, environmental engineers for the project have <br /> information regarding this matter on their web page <br /> www,ste,,misMieler.coin. <br /> Town-Wide Stormwater Management Plan: <br /> The Planning Board is scheduled to review the NPDES PH Small MS4 <br /> project status with the Catherine Laurent,Director of Public Works and <br /> Charles Rowley, the Town's consulting engineer. <br /> A new draft Residential Primer will be presented to the EOC at the next <br /> meeting. Ms. Kane indicated that she will give a power point presentation <br /> to the EOC of the proposal that is less technical with more graphics. The <br /> document is proposed to provide educational and action items to reduce <br /> and treat stormwater runoff from residential properties. With the <br /> Committee's approval,the document will be posted on the Town's <br /> website for informational purposes. <br /> It was noted that Stearns & Wheler may have available funding for <br /> outreach purposes to assist with the distribution of the document. <br />
