MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING -APRIL 5, 2000 PAGE <br /> 'x.1.1.1 Receptionist - Superintendent's Office - Mr. McGown <br /> explained this position that will be discussed in <br /> executive session. <br /> 7.2 Food Service ..[J pd ate - Mr. Mc ro rn reported that due to <br /> Food Service Director Linda Warren7s absence this week, he was <br /> unable to meet with her to confirm the latest food service figures. <br /> He said there have been no commodities received from the state <br /> since January and as a result chartvells has had to pay for food <br /> totaling $14,000 in commodity losses. Mr. IlcGown will contact <br /> the school attorney to discuss remuneration. Also, the renewal of <br /> the food service contract will be discussed in May. <br /> 7.3 Enrollments - Mr. Fluery said the total elementary <br /> enrollment -is 1,367 with 832 at the high school. Total district <br /> enrollment is 2,109 with 47 Mashpee students attending cape Cod <br /> Tech. <br /> 7.4 Facilities,Report - In his report for the month ofMarch, Mr. <br /> Cook outlined the following: <br /> Coombs School HVAC Units: <br /> legal opinion has been obtained regarding the issue of the HVAC <br /> i units wherein Attorney Butler states the legal process could be <br /> lengthy one against the engineer who was hired to design and <br /> supervise the air improvements. This would not be in the best <br /> interest of the occupants of the Coombs School. As a result of this <br /> determination, the Finance Committee has approved funding for <br /> replacing the four male-up air units on the rooftop of the coombs <br /> School. Also, the School Department will need to hire an engineer <br /> to specify the proper replacement units and the project will have to <br /> go out to bid. <br /> Pest Control: <br /> The pest management contractor for the school district has located <br /> termites present at the Quashnet Schools and Coombs School. In <br /> order to comply with the IPPA regulations for safe pest control in <br /> public buildings, the `Sentricon System" will be used to eliminate <br /> the insects. Currently, there is little or no damage to either , <br /> building. <br /> i <br /> Bid Awards: <br /> Bids were awarded to the following companies as noted: <br /> 1.
