x MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE FINANCE MEETING SEPTEMBER 20, 2000 Minutes Attendees: Chairperson Janice Mills, 'Theresa Cool, I onnaJean Lopez, Ben Caswell, and Kathleen Lynch. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood F'luery and Business Administrator Russ McCown. I. Call Meeting lng lrs. Mills called the finance meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. to Order at the Quashnet School Library. II. Technology Mr. Fluery said the computers at the Coombs school are installed and ready for usage. This topic' ill be discussed further in executive session. III. Enrollments Mr. Fluery updated the Committee on the enrollments as of this date (September 20th). Coombs School -- 549; Quashnet School - 785; High School - 922 with a total district enrollment of 2,256. IST, Foca Service Mr. Flu ry introduced Chartwells'District Manager Jerry Update Jones who addressed the Committee on the financial status of the food service program. Ir. 1lcGown noted the 1999-2000 year-enol deficit of $30,634.10 however, $15,125.35 of that was attributed to the loss of commodities. Therefore, the overall deficit for the 1999-2000 school year was $15,508.1 . Ir. Jones then discussed the staffing situation at the schools. Discussion thea followed on the price of milk. Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to increase the price of milk from $.3o to $.35 for students effective October 3 , 2000. TE: Unanimous.
