x <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> FINANCE MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 20, 2000 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairperson Janice Mills, 'Theresa Cool, I onnaJean Lopez, Ben Caswell, <br /> and Kathleen Lynch. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood <br /> F'luery and Business Administrator Russ McCown. <br /> I. Call Meeting lng lrs. Mills called the finance meeting to order at 6:06 p.m. <br /> to Order at the Quashnet School Library. <br /> II. Technology Mr. Fluery said the computers at the Coombs school are <br /> installed and ready for usage. This topic' ill be discussed <br /> further in executive session. <br /> III. Enrollments Mr. Fluery updated the Committee on the enrollments as of <br /> this date (September 20th). Coombs School -- 549; <br /> Quashnet School - 785; High School - 922 with a total <br /> district enrollment of 2,256. <br /> IST, Foca Service Mr. Flu ry introduced Chartwells'District Manager Jerry <br /> Update Jones who addressed the Committee on the financial status <br /> of the food service program. <br /> Ir. 1lcGown noted the 1999-2000 year-enol deficit of <br /> $30,634.10 however, $15,125.35 of that was attributed to <br /> the loss of commodities. Therefore, the overall deficit for <br /> the 1999-2000 school year was $15,508.1 . <br /> Ir. Jones then discussed the staffing situation at the <br /> schools. <br /> Discussion thea followed on the price of milk. Motion made <br /> by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to increase the price <br /> of milk from $.3o to $.35 for students effective October <br /> 3 , 2000. <br /> TE: Unanimous. <br /> Coombs School Coombs School Principal Louise Doyle addressed the <br /> Playground Committee on the status of the playground. She said after <br /> Update contacting willo rbend for ars update of the original <br /> application dated February 22, 2000 (which requested <br /> $40,000), she was informed that the original application <br /> needs to be redone and resubmitted because the terms of <br /> the proposal Have changed in,seeping$10,000 from <br />
