ti <br /> s <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> DECEMBER , 2000 <br /> Attendees: Chairperson Janice Mills, Theresa Cook, DonnaJean Lopez, Ben Caswell, and <br /> Kathy Lynch. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood Fluery and <br /> Business Administrator Russ Mc 'rown. <br /> I. Executive Motion made by Mrs. Lopez, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to call the <br /> Session executive session to order at 6:3 p.m. in the Quashnet School <br /> Teachers'Lounge. <br /> II. Call Meeting Mrs. Mills called the regular meting to order at 7-.13 p.m. in the <br /> to Order Quashnet School Library, <br /> III. Approval of 3.1 Budget Meeting- October 17, 2000 - Motion made by Mrs. <br /> Minutes Lynch, seconded by Mrs. Cook, to approve the minutes of <br /> the budget meeting held on October 17, 2000. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 3.2 Executive Session- October 17, 2000 - These minutes <br /> were not voted upon at tonight's meeting. <br /> 3.3 Regular_Meeting- November 8, 2000 - Motion rade by <br /> Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve the <br /> minutes of the regular meeting held on November 8, 2000. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 3.4 Executive Session- November 8, 200 -These minutes <br /> were not voted upon at tonight's meeting. <br /> IV. Public Forum Mashpee Teachers'Association President Kathy Smola addressed <br /> the Committee regarding on-going financial issues, i.e., purchase <br /> orders, reimbursements and payroll. In her statement, Ms. <br /> Smola noted that she felt it was her "duty to state publicly some <br /> of the issues and concerns our teachers and staff have been <br /> dealing with for almost a year." <br /> 1. It has been brought to her "attention earlier this year that <br /> purchase orders were missing and supplies not received. <br /> There also occurred duplication of materials orders." <br /> 2. Some teachers who put in the request for these purchase <br /> orders were then seat letters from credit bureaus <br /> threatening their oven personal credit because bills were <br /> not paid from the Central Office. <br /> . She also expressed concern regarding vendors not being <br /> paid in a timely fashion and thus "hesitating to provide <br /> services for our system." <br />
