Mashpee Commons (continued)
Walter Yarosh asked whatever they come up with to let the Committee know.
The e-mail from Rich Morgan with Building Department comments regarding this Mashpee Commons
matter was read into the record. Copy of the e-mail is attached to the printed set of these minutes.
Joel Clifford noted this would be subject to Chapter 34 review. Tom Feronti said once they get into
the Plan they will do all that. He said riser for the building going to be eliminated and tap into existing
riser at back of Ghelfi's. He said access already there for building 6 and building 10 riser. He noted
fire connection on Steeple Street at front on the building.
John Renz said they won't designate loading zones, but will have Fire Zones designated. Joel asked
that they designate loading so deliveries don't use fire zones.
Glen Harrington said when tenants go in the Board of Health will have comments regarding food, etc.
but at this point no comment.
168 Industrial Drive
Representative —Kevin Kirrane
Applicant seeks to expand the uses permitted
Attorney Kevin Kirrane addressed the Committee and said they are going to the Planning Board on
January 4th. He said no exterior or interior changes to the site or building are being done; they are
simply seeking to expand the uses permitted. Tom Fudala stated it would be a modification to a
Special Permit.
Mr. Kirrane said Unit 1 is used for storage and is existing; cosmetic storage/distribution is existing
since about a year ago; flip-flops is in unit 4 and the gymnastic studio is being proposed. Cape Cod
Rehab proposed for unit 6; that is presently a permitted use. Bob Nelson asked would Cape Cod
Rehab be same as gymnasium. Response was "no", not same. Gymnasium is a training facility to
teach gymnasts. It will be all apparatus. Kevin Kirrane said most hours for the Gymnasium will be
after school...3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; also special trainings at the weekend.
Walter Yarosh suggested they take a look at the new Fire Code and chart at the front. He said they
can look at each use they want to put in there and see fire code separation requirement. Applicant
said they put 2-hour separation throughout the building. Kevin Kirrane said auto repair probably not
going in.
Applicant said building is sprinkled.
Joel Clifford said they need a letter certifying walls have 2-hour fire separation. Also need fire sprinler
narrative for each unit. They said they do have engineer of record to take care of the whole system,
including fire alarm system.
Glen Harrington advised they need septic system to be looked at when new tenant(s) go in. Also
Board of Health needs a letter from engineer that septic flow has capacity to handle their use.
3
