MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING —FEBRUARY ,,2001 PAGE <br /> Mrs. Lynch reiterated that Cape Cod Tech tuition is based on their October 1 <br /> enrollment figures. If that figure drops below 49 s of October 1, 2000), we still pay <br /> for tuition although there are not 49 students attending. <br /> Mr. 1~leery infortned the Committee that Cape Cod Tech Superintendent Tim Carroll <br /> invited the Committee for a visit at their convenience. <br /> Mrs. Mills noted the passing of two Cape Cod Tech School Committee liaisons to the <br /> 1lashpee School Committee. They were David Terry who was serving on the Cape <br /> Cod Tech School Committee during his passing and former member Thomas Bartley <br /> who served many years on the Cape Cod Tech School Committee. Mrs. Mills <br /> commended their dedication to students as well as their years of service. <br /> Mrs. Mills said Mr. Terry's position will need to be posted and filled. Per the Cape <br /> Cod Tech and Town of Mashpee agreement, this will be done by the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> 8.6 Out-of-School_ Suspensions — These were included in the "Supplemental <br /> Packet"which noted a total of 36 students assigned to Saturday School in grades -12; <br /> 3 infractions in grade 9;6 in grade 10; 4 in grade 1 I; and 3 in grade 12. There were 23 <br /> students in grades 7 and 8 who were assigned Saturday School with 12 infractions in <br /> ' grade 7 and 3 in grade 8. <br /> 8.7 Math Revision,,--K-6 — Philosophy and cope and Sequence — Mrs. Parolski <br /> outlined this document as submitted. The Committee asked questions regarding the <br /> document. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve the Math Revision, <br /> 1 - —Philosophy and Scope and Sequence. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> It was noted that high school principal Mr. Brown will have available high school <br /> scholarships and their deadlines <br /> !x. Specifically Assigned/ 9.1 Cell Phone Contract--Mr. F luery said the school department has a new cell <br /> Unfinished Business phone vendor. Our new vendor is Lingular wireless. All employees who have cell <br /> phones will be using the same vendor. Also, Mrs. Cook reiterated that cell phone <br /> numbers should not be published. <br /> 9.2 Copy Machines — Mr. McCown said copy machine vendors will be giving <br /> presentations on March 6th at the Administrative Roundtable. Leasing of copy <br /> machines was also a possibility. This issue will be discussed at the April regular <br /> meeting. <br /> 9.3 Nurse Presentation — health Grant — High School Nurse Maryise Grady, <br /> nashxnet Schaal nurse Susan Cowles and Coombs School nurse Susan Bel <br /> addressed the Committee regarding the"Enhanced School Grant'. This grant earmarks <br /> $85,000 for four years to the health offices. <br /> It was noted that when the grant expires, the positions covered in this grant may not <br /> necessarily be continued by the school department. <br />
