MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—MAY 13 2001 PACE <br /> 8.5 EnroIIments—Mr. Flu cry reported the following enrolIm nt figures: <br /> Coombs School — 564; Quashnet School — 786; High School — 908 <br /> with a district total of2,258 students. At Cape Cod Tech there are <br /> currently 46 Mashpee students enrolled in grades -12. <br /> .6 Out-of-School Suspensions— At the high school, there were 32 total <br /> suspensions in grades 9-12 and 14 suspensions in grades 7 and 8 for <br /> the month ofApril. One Saturday School session was held with 4 <br /> students assigned. <br /> .7 School Choice, 2001-2002 School Year — Motion made by Mrs. <br /> Cools, seconded by Mr. Caswell, for Mashpee Public Schools to <br /> remain a school system not of choice for the 2001-2002 school year. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.8 Summer School — Lou Anti St. r — Mrs. St. Cyr addressed the <br /> Committee with proposals for Summer School 2001. They included <br /> the following: <br /> • Increase teachers' salaries from $20 per Dour to$25. <br /> • Increase secretary's salary to$8 per hoar. <br /> • Hire an Assistant Director at$25) per hour. <br /> • The Iir- tor"s salary would remain a$3,000 for five weeks. <br /> • Tuition for one high school course would be$165 which includes <br /> a $25 registration fee for Mashpee residents. Non-resident <br /> tuition for one high school course would be $190 which includes <br /> a $25 registration fee. One-course tuition for elementary school <br /> students would b $125 including a $25 registration fee for <br /> lashpee residents. Non-resident tuition for one elementary Mass <br /> would be$150 which includes a$25 registration fee. <br /> • Tentative course offerings are: <br /> I- o : <br /> Pre-Algebra; Algebra; Geometry; Language Arts, Grades 7 and <br /> ; English, Grades 9-12; Social Studies, Grades 7 and ; World <br /> Civilization; U. S.
