3. MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 3,2001 Minutes Attendees: Chairwoman Theresa Cook,Ben Caswell,Janice Mills,Donnalean Lopez and Mollie Reis. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood Fluery and Business Administrator Michael Tarlow. I. Call Meeting Mrs.Cook called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. to Order in the Quashnet School Library. H. Executive Session Motion made by Mrs.Lopez,seconded by Mrs.Reis,to move into executive session at 6:31 p.m.for the purpose of discussing negotiations and personnel. Roll Call Vote: In favor—Mrs.Cook,Mrs. Mills,Mrs. Lopez,and Mrs.Reis; absent for vote—Mr.Caswell. The regular meeting reconvened at 7:09 p.m. IH. Approval of Minutes 3.1 Rear Meeting—September 12,2001—Motion made by Mr.Caswell,seconded by Mrs.Mills to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 12,2001 as presented. VOTE: Unanimous 3.2 Executive Session—September 12,2001 —Motion made by Mrs.Mills, seconded by Mrs.Reis to approve the minutes of the executive session held on September 12,2001 as presented. VOTE: In favor—Mrs.Cook,Mr.Caswell,Mrs.Mills,Mrs.Lopez, and Mrs.Reis. IV. Public Forum Mrs.Cook indicated that the School Committee accepts with regret,the resignation of DonnaJean Lopez. Individuals interested in saving on the School Committee may submit a letter of interest to Theresa Cook in c/o the Office of the Superintendent of Schools. V. Acknowledgments 5.1 "Letter of Appreciation"from Cape Cod Collaborative dated September 6,2001 -Mrs.Cook acknowledged the letter of appreciation from the Cape Cal Collaborative for use of a classroom at the Quashnet School this past summer. 5.2 Gerald DeConto- Mrs.Cook acknowledged Gerald DeConto; a U.S.Navy Captain,and the son of a long time teacher who was killed in the attack on the Pentagon on September 11,2001.
