r MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING I MARCH 6,2002 Minutes Attendees: Chairwoman Theresa Cook, Hen Caswell, Mollie Reis, Janice Mils, and Peter Thomas. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Sherwood Flu ry and Business Administrator Michael Tarlow. I. Call Meeting Mrs. Cools called the regular meeting to order at 6:32 p. . in the Quashnet School to Order Library. II. Executive Session Motion made by Mrs. Mills,seconded by Mr.Caswell,to move into executive session at-6:3 p. . for the purpose of negotiations and personnel. Roll Call Vote: In favor— Mrs. Cook, Mr. Caswell, Mrs. Reis, Mrs. Mills, and liar. Thomas; opposed—none. The regular meeting reconvened at 7:21 p. . III. Approval of Minutes 3.1 Regular Meeting--February 6,2002—Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on February 6, 2002. VO'C'E: In favor—Mrs. Cool, Mr. Caswell, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Thomas; abstained— Mrs. Reis. .2 Executive Session—February. ,2002—Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Caswell, to approve the minutes of the executive session held on February 6, 2002. VOTE: In favor—Mrs. Cook, Mr. Caswell, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Thomas; opposed— nne;abstained—Mrs.Reis. 3.3 Joint Meeting with Selectmen and Finance Committee—February 11, 2002— Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mir. Caswell,.to approve the minutes of the joint meeting held with the Selectmen and Finance Committee on February 11,2002. VOTE: In favor — Mrs. Cool, Mr. Caswell, Mrs. Reis, and Mrs. Mills; opposed — none; abstained—Mr.Thomas. IV. Public Forum Finance Committee member lathy Lynch addressed the Committee regarding the FY03 budget. A department head budget meeting was held at Town Hall this afternoon. Mrs. Lynch reported that the Finance Committee and Selectmen requested a budget printout similar to the ones that were distributed in previous years listing line item by line item as well as positions. Mr. Tarlow will readjust the chart of accounts as mandated by the Department of Education and comply with the Finance Committee's and Selectmen's request. Media Arts Director Melissa Murphy informed the Committee of three new educational channels. They are the Annenberg Channnel,the MASA Channel and the Arts Channel. These channels will provide educational materials 24 hours a day,7 days a week. V. Acknowledgments 5.1 Correspondence from Patricia DeBoer to Willowbend Children's Charit�r slated February 2 , 2002 —Mrs. Cook acknowledged a letter thanking Willowbend on behalf of grade six students for a grant which provided students an opportunity t experience the Boston Museum ofScience.
