This stipend could he split between two or more drivers <br /> who collectively would be responsible for assisting the Business Administrator with various other <br /> duties (driver administrative duties, review ofdriver routes, recruiting and training of substitute <br /> drivers, advise of current compliance of vehicles and drivers with all local, state and federal <br /> requirements) in addition to their regular driving responsibilities. Mr. Tarlow Set a stipend of$3,600 <br /> to be offset by potential savings in transportation expenses,therefore additional funding is not required <br /> t this time. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by NIS-. Caswell, to approve the Van Driver/Courier Stipend as <br /> presented. <br /> Roll Call Vote: In favor—Mrs. Cook,Mr.Caswell, Mrs. leis,Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Thomas; opposed <br /> —none. <br /> Food service payroll revision provosal — Mr. Tarlow discussed a proposal which, because of the <br /> uncertainty that existed when the food service program was proposed last year hourly rates of <br /> employees at that time were not increased, recommended a one-time only payment at the end of the <br /> school year to food service employees who meet the following criteria; <br /> 1. Have been permanently employed in the food service for at least six months on June'3 0,2002. <br /> a. substitute time does not count towards six months except for consecutive school days <br /> worked immediately prior to commencement of permanent status. <br /> b. have been in a non-administrative position. <br /> 2. Indicate in writing their intent to return to work in September 2002, if so invited. <br /> The one-time payments would be broken down as follows: <br /> a. $300 for lead cooks <br /> b. $200 for cook helpers who have been here all year <br /> . $100 for cook helpers who have been here part of the year <br /> The maximum cost of the one-tune payment would be$2,500. This payment would be contingent <br /> upon the ability of the food service program to make said payments without jeopardizing the food <br /> service's original profit projection. <br /> Also as part of this proposal,the following recommendations were discussed: <br /> . Elimination ofthe Assistant Food Service Director/High School Manager <br /> b. Addition of 10 hours/week at the Quashnet School and Coombs School to assist during <br /> lunch <br />
