Public Forum Finance Committee member T errie Cook expressed concern to Mr. Tarlo <br /> regarding, although listed on the agenda, the lack of an FY02 and F <br /> budget printout included in the packet. Mr. Tarlow said, "we tried to start <br /> putting in the encumbrances for payroll today...and when we lost our <br /> electricity this morning, communications with Town Hall was lost." Per <br /> Mrs. Mills'request, Mr. Tarlow will inform the School Committee members <br /> when the F2 budget final reports can be picked up in the office. <br /> MaryRose Grady discussed correspondence dated June 2002 from the <br /> Department of Public Health as well as a letter dated July 17, 2002 from <br /> Representative Matt Patrick regarding funding of the Enhanced School <br /> Health Services grant. She stressed the need to recall the three aides based <br /> on the fact that between , 0 -7,000 children per month visit the nurse's <br /> offices in the three schools. Based on the intent to fund letter from the <br /> Department of Public Health and Mr. Patrick's correspondence, which <br /> confirms this grant had been approved in the House and Senate as well as <br /> the Governor's budget, Mrs. Grady asked the Committee's permission to <br /> recall the three health aides. Mrs. Mills said unless there is something more <br /> definitive in writing, the health aides cannot be recalled. "'No money, no <br /> job.11) <br /> V. Acknowledgments Mrs. Mills welcomed back Coombs School principal Mrs. Doyle back after <br /> a recent illness. <br /> Mrs. Mills reported on the condition of School Committee member Mrs. <br /> Reis following her recent surgery. <br /> VI. Communications There were no"Communications"this evening. <br /> VII, Student Advisory There will be a new student representative after elections in September. <br /> Council <br /> VIII, Report of the Mrs. Mills asked the Committee's permission to move up four agenda items. <br /> Superintendent The Committee agreed. <br /> 8.6 Montessori School — Virginia Collier, Head of the Sandwich <br /> Montessori School, addressed the Committee regarding the opening of a <br /> Montessori School located in Masbpee. This School would education <br /> approximately 15 six to nine year olds. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Lopez, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve the <br /> Montessori School in Mashpe . <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.8 Coombs School Parent/Student Landbook, 2002-2003 — Coombs <br /> School principal Louise Doyle outlined this annually-revised document <br /> noting changes and/or revisions as a result of a meeting with Mr. Caswell <br /> and Mr. Thomas. Mr. Tarlow suggested adding verbiage regarding liability <br /> during walking field trips. Mrs. Doyle will investigate. <br />
