t i } <br /> 11 ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9,2002 PAGE 4 <br /> 8.6 Audio-Visual Fees—Media Arts Director Melissa Murphy briefly outlined <br /> the proposed audio-visual fee schedule for possible future usage. Mrs. Mills <br /> thanked Ms. Murphy and said this is a good beginning point for further discussion. <br /> 8.7 Summer School R —Summer School Director Lou Ann St. Cyr gave a <br /> report on this year's Summer School. She said 80 high school students were <br /> enrolled in four academic areas (English, Math, Social Studies and Science). Mrs. <br /> St. Cyr commended the teaching efforts of Sean Corey,Neil O'Donnell,Patty Riley <br /> and Sheila Arnold. She also thanked Assistant Director Batt Trivri for his <br /> administrative support as well as Felly I u hemin for her secretarial assistance. <br /> This year there was a balance of $4, 0in the Sump- School account. <br /> Unfortunately, due to low enrollment the Elementary Summer School Program did <br /> not tale place. Special efforts will be made nit year to enroll elementary students. <br /> 8.8 I of Ike u st for Trophy Case — Student of the Month — High School <br /> Principal Ira Brown addressed the Committee on a request from the Rotary Club <br /> who voted to spend $200 for materials needed to construct a display case to be <br /> mounted on the wall in the high school. The Committee gave its full support for <br /> this effort and thanked the Rotary Club for its contribution. <br /> .9 "Curriculum Development Process" Revision — Policy IF-F — Mrs. <br /> Parolski asked the Committee's permission to movethe Social Studies Curriculum <br /> to Year 2 in the five-year curriculum revision cycle. Because this is a revision to a <br /> current policy,the Committee will vote on it at their October meeting. <br /> .10 Policy Manual Revision — Mr. Brown suggested forming a committee <br /> consisting of a School Committee member, another administrator, a teacher <br /> representative, a parent and a high school student. This committee will review the <br /> current School Committee Policy Manual and male revisions, deletions, any <br /> changes consistent with our current school system and Massachusetts General <br /> Laws. The Committee volunteered Mrs. Lopez to serve as its representative. <br /> Ix. Specifically Assigned/ There was no report for this agenda topic. <br /> Unfinished Business <br /> X. Committee Reports 11.1 Sub-Committee F p rt <br /> 11.1.1 Ne ti tion —Mrs. Parolsl i said these discussions will commence in <br /> October 2002. <br /> 11.1.2 High School — There has been no meeting yet, however, one will be <br /> scheduled soon. <br /> 11.1.3 Elementary School—There has been no meeting yet. <br /> 11.1.4 Curriculum /MCAS—Mrs. Parolsl i informed the Committee on the latest <br /> MCAS data. MCAS will become a part of the "Curriculum" report each <br /> month. <br />
