I MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE ITTEE—REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 4,, 2002 PAGE 8.5.2 IAP — Mrs. Parlski outlined the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan (DCAP) is a day-long analysis of district data, review of plan components already in progress related to school improvement and administrative feedback reflecting staff and parent contributions as well as student skills information. 8.6 SEPAL Update — Special Education Director Grace Day outlined the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee activities. .7 McKinney-Vento McKinney—VentHomeless Education Act — Mrs. Parol ski explained this new Act that was reauthorized December ember 2001 as part of the federal "N Child Left Behind Act" ensures educational rights and protections for children and youth experience homelessness and requires school districts to adapt to a new set of requirements regarding the education of this needyat-risk population. Imo. Specifically Assigned/ :l Telephones—As part ofthe sum rn er"retreat"discussions,the School Unfinished Business Committee noted telephone issues that needed to be resolved. Mrs. Par lski informed the Committee that School Facilities Supervisor Brad Tripp is "bringing things up to speed"and will keep working on telephone issues. X. New Business 10.1 School Committee 2002-2003 Goals—Also as part of their""Retreat"' discussions,the Committee developed goals for this school year. firs. Mills listed the following goals in no specific order of priority: Financial Management: Budget Accountability Communications '03-'04 Plan Phone System Student Achievement Safety and Security Technology: V Systems Middle Grade Identity District Climate Although the Administrators and teachers devised their own goals without knowing what the School Committee's were., Mrs. Mills noted these goals are very simiIar to the other two factions.
