New Business 10.1 "N on-C u stod i al Parents Ii "—Policy RBB,A—The Massachusetts <br /> Legislature added a statute in 1998 protecting the rights of non-custodial <br /> parents to notification and information regarding their child. The Department <br /> f Education updated their regulations on student records to include section (5) <br /> f 603 CMR 23.07 which outlines access procedures for non-custodial parent. <br /> This was the first reading ofthe policy a nd therefore will be voted on at the <br /> March regular meeting. <br /> 10.2 Suspension of"Recruitment and Selection ofAdministrators," Policy <br /> C1 and Suspension of"Recruitment and Selection of„the Superintendent", <br /> Policy KF — Mrs. hills asked Mrs. Par lski to discuss her short- and long- <br /> term goals. Mrs. Parolski responded that she is accessible to the school staff <br /> and community as well. This year's goals have included negotiations of three <br /> employee contracts, an extensive Department of Education audit and working <br /> n the budget. Her long-term goals include improving MCAS S scores with <br /> limited resources and to continue her daily accessibility to staff and community. <br /> After Mrs. Par lsl i outlined the above, a motion was made by Mr. Caswell, <br /> seconded by Mrs. leis, to temporarily suspend the operation ofsection C1 of <br /> the Committee's policies, entitled "Recruitment and Selection of <br /> Administrators,," and section CI F, entitled "Recruitment ecruitment and Selection of <br /> Superintendent.” <br /> Doll Call vote: In favor— Mrs. Mills, Mr. Thomas, Mrs, Deis, Mr. Caswell, <br /> and Mrs. Lopez;opposed—none. <br /> 10.3 Su erintend nt's Appointment -- Motion made by Mrs. Lopez, <br /> seconded by Mr. Thomas, to appoint Patricia Parlski as Superintendent of <br /> Schools for the Mashpee Public School system. <br /> Roll Call vote: In favor— Mrs. Mills, Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Reis, Mr. Caswell, <br /> and Mrs. Lopez;opposed—none. <br /> X1. Committee Reports l l.l Sub-Committee l ep rt <br /> 11.1.1 Negotiations — Mr. Thomas gave an update on the Unit A and Unit C <br /> negotiations. <br /> 11.1.2 High School—There has been no meeting but one will be set. <br /> 11.1.3 Elem ntaSchool—No meeting. <br /> 11.1.4Curriculum/MCAS—Mrs. Parlski updated the Committee on the three <br /> curriculum community boards (music, health, and physical education) <br /> which all had meetings this week.
