MASHP E SCHOOL COMMITTEE EE—REGULAR MEETING---.DULY 2, 2003 PAGE 4 <br /> 9.3 High School Press Box — Boosters Club -- Mrs. Cool{ informed the <br /> Committee that Day Sign has donated a sign stating, "Thanks to the Hard work <br /> f the Following,the l ashpee High School Press Boas Became A Reality" and <br /> listed the naives ofthose who participated in this project. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Deis, to approve the High <br /> School Press Box sign as printed and donated by Day Sign. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> X. New Business 10.1 "No Place for Hate" Plagues in Schools—Mrs. Par lsl i reported that, <br /> due to the efforts of the Affirmative Action Committee, the Town of Mashpee <br /> was one ofthree towns on Cape Cod that has been designated a "No Place for <br /> Hate"town. The Affirmative Action committee asked to place a plaque in each <br /> school denoting Mashpee as a town for"No Place for Hate." <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook,, seconded by Mrs. Mills,to approve the placement <br /> of one plaque in each school. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 10.2 leadinPrPosal for Passing Graces 7 and 8—liths. Pa.rolsli outlined <br /> this proposal in which reading would be required for passing grades 7 and 8. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Reis, to approve the Reading <br /> Proposal for Passing Grades 7 and 8. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> X1. Committee Reports 11.1 Sub-Committee Re2orts <br /> 11.1.1 Negotiations — Mrs. T'h rnas reported that Unit B has been approved; <br /> Unit C is ongoing. <br /> 11.1.2 High School—Mrs. Cook said there has been no meeting yet. <br /> 11.1.3 Elementary School—Mr. Thomas said there has been no meeting yet. <br /> 11.1.4 Currieulurn MCAS—1 rs. Parolsl i reported on the three curricula that <br /> were voted upon tonight (Health, Physical Education and Music); <br /> MCAS results will be made available in September. <br /> 11.2 External Reports <br /> 11.2.1 Cape Cad Collaborative—Mrs. Lopez washot in attendance tonight. <br /> 11.2.2 Leisure Services—Mr. Thomas as said there has been no meeting. <br />
