Acknowledgments 5.1 All Cqpe Junior High Band — Correspondence to QS dated 2/12/04 --Y <br /> Mr. Thomas read aloud a letter from the Director of Bards, Mariell n Sears, <br /> commending the Quashnet students' behavior during the All Cape Junior High <br /> Band workshop. <br /> Mr. Thomas also commended the Mashpee High School Cheerleading squads <br /> for their trophy-winning recent competitions. The varsity cheerleaders came in <br /> second place in the ridg wat r l aynham Open Cheerleading Competition <br /> while the junior varisty cheerleaders also won second place in the same <br /> competition. <br /> . <br /> V1. Communications There were no"Com m u n icat i on s"this evening. i <br /> VII. Student Advisory Student Advisory Council representative Tia Averett informed the Committee <br /> Council ofthe following: 1 February was African-American History Month where <br /> each day a short story was announced regarding the struggles and challenges of <br /> various African-Americans and ghat their a co m pl i shm eats were; There was <br /> a TV production breakfast at Camp Edwards for the Class of 2007 officer; 3 <br /> "Footloose" will be performed on March 19 and ; n March 1-2 1h Jesse <br /> Janedy's Senior Project Play will be performed at 7:00 p.m. in the high school <br /> auditorium. <br /> Due to audience participation, Mr. Thomas asked to move up 8.6 "Senior <br /> Project — Carolyn Trask, 8.9, "Cooperative Hockey and Students Sports <br /> Summit" and 9.3 "Protocol for Managing Student with Life-Thr ateneing <br /> Allergies"Policy JLCD. <br /> 8.6 Senior Proiect-- Carolyn Trask — For her class project Senior Carolyn <br /> Trask requested Committee's permission to stage a "mock" automobile <br /> accident. Her topic is Teenage Alcoholism and Drunk giving and has received <br /> cooperation from the Mashpee Police Department and Mashpee Fire <br /> Department for usage of their staff and vehicles. There will be student <br /> " 1ctims" and crashed vehicles. Miss 'T'rasks' "'tock accident" will be staged <br /> on Tuesday, March 301', at 8:30 a.m. at the high school. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve Carolyn <br /> Trasks' Senior Project as described above. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.9 Cooperative Hockey and Students Sports Summit — Mike Horne — <br /> Athletic Director Mike Lorne and Hockey Coach Shawn Chicoine addressed <br /> the Committee regarding a proposal to join Lipper Cape Cod Regional <br /> Technical High School hockey team members with a 1ashpee High School <br /> varsity ice hockey team. These teams would compete in the South Shore <br /> League. Also, the creation of a sub-varsity would be possible who could play a <br /> limited schedule against local teams such as Sandwich and Bourne. <br /> This cooperative ice hockey team concept would commence in the 2003-2005 <br /> season. <br />
