MA HP E SCHOOL COMMITT —FINANCE MEETfNG—APRIL 289 2004 PAGE <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Reis, seconded by Mrs. Goole, to approve budget transfer <br /> #04-06-51 in the amount of$9,000.00 <br /> Vote: Unanimous <br /> . FY04 School Lunch Report—March 2004 — Mrs. Ferguson reported a total of$173,350.83 in <br /> the food service revolving account. Mr. Thomas said this is a"very successful program." <br /> . FY05 Budget Update — Mrs. Ferguson reiterated the proposed FY05 F05budget figure of <br /> $16,984,751 which will be voted upon at the May 3rd Town Meeting. <br /> Mr. Thomas stressed the need for parental involvement at all meetings, i.e., School Committee, <br /> Selectmen and Finance Committee,,not just Town Meeting. <br /> Mrs. 1I111s briefly outlined the ongoing Hancock vs, Driscoll lawsuit where a judge ruled in favor <br /> of three Cape school districts Mashpee, Barnstable and Sandwich) receive monies as a result of <br /> her decision. Mrs. Mills said Ma. hp e may be receiving money and budget problems are not <br /> over. <br /> 7. Cape Light Compact Energy Conservation Proposal — Mrs. Parolski described this proposal <br /> which, if approved,would be completed during the summer. 1"his proposal as submitted by RISE <br /> Engineering and Gape Light Compact indicate a potential substantial savings in electricity costs. <br /> The only cost to the school department would be the disposal of non-hazardous materials. School <br /> Fac 111t1 Supervisor B rad Tripp estimates between$40 045 00 for dumpster costs. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to approve the Gape Light Compact <br /> Energy Conservation Proposal. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> . DocSTAR Proposal — Mrs. Ferguson once again presented this proposal whereby documents, <br /> i.e., payroll, special education documents, accounts payable, would be filed electronically thus <br /> saving file cabinet space. A total prig of$14,784 would be required to implement this system or <br /> a60-month lease at$317 per month with a$1 buyout lease option. <br /> After Mrs. Ferguson's presentation, the Committee decided to place this issue on hold and <br /> perhaps place In a future capital expense request. <br /> . SBAB SBAvote — DoE Audit — The School Building Assistance Bureau and Department nt of <br /> Education are conducting an audit. One of the requests is to submit the minutes of the School <br /> Committee's vote on accepting the Quashnet River School and the Mashpee High School. In <br /> discussion with the Torn Accountant Consultant, Mrs. Ferguson was asked to locate these <br /> minutes. <br /> The Committee requested further information from Town Hall. Mrs. Ferguson will obtain from <br /> Mrs. Rommelmeyer.. <br /> 1 . other—There were no issues under"Other." <br />
