l ASIP E SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING MAY 5, 2004 PAGE <br /> 5.4 Fetter from Carol Trask to Melissa Murphy dated April 13, 2004 <br /> High School Senior Miss Trash thanked Ms.Murphy for her assistance with her <br /> senior project ofa mock accident on March 0,2004. <br /> .5 Full-Da Kindergarten Statewide Networking Conference — M 1 <br /> 2004 —Mashpee staff members J y Smith, Davien Gould, Peg Geary, Barbara <br /> Zuwalla l , JoAnne Bellone, and parent Elizabeth Moore will be presenting a <br /> discussion regarding `Strengthening the Fabric of Kindergarten Programs"at a � <br /> workshop sponsored by the Mass. Department of Education. <br /> 5.6 Presenters at School Psychologist Conference in Dallas -- Former <br /> Special Education Administrator Grace Day, School Psychologists Anne <br /> Bradley and Marie Grable gave a presentation on school psychology at a <br /> conference in Dallas in April 2004. <br /> 5.7 Mass. State Science Fair First Place Recipient Shawn Johnson <br /> Science teacher Suzanne Avtges announced that senior Shawn Johnson <br /> competed in the Mass. State Science Fair on May 1-2 held at MIT. Shawn's <br /> project was entitled "The Relationship Between Deep ocean Current Velocity <br /> and North Atlantic Climate." He ranked 41 out of over 340 projects submitted. <br /> He was awarded the Genzyme Corporation Awards which consisted of a <br /> $17,500 prize package including $5,000 for Shaven, $5,000 to Mashpee High <br /> School for Science Education, $2,500 paid internship for Shaven at Genzyme <br /> Corp. next summer and a $5,000 research grant to Ms. Avtg s at Genzyme for <br /> next summer. <br /> Mrs. Cook noted that an article in the "Cape Cod Times" regarding senior <br /> Allison Marsh -was written highlighting her young career in crew. For her <br /> efforts she will be attending Notre Iain . <br /> Mrs. Mills sadly noted the passing ofEleanor Ringling, former dedicated Food <br /> Service Director in the Mashpee Public Schools for many years. Mrs. Ringling <br /> passed away in March. <br /> If 'ommunications There were n "Communications"'this evening. <br /> V11. Student Advisory Tia Averett was unable to attend this evening's meeting,however, Housemaster <br /> Council Greg Moore announced the following events: 1 the Jr-. Sr. Prom will be held <br /> n May 7 1n with the Post Prom Party at the High School; 2 the first Mr. <br /> Mashpee High School will be held on May 'h; P exams are this week, <br /> 4) the Senior class is looping forward to receiving'their copies f' r. S ss' <br /> boob, "Oh. The Places You'll Go"at graduation. <br /> Vu1. Report of the 8.1 Personnel—There were no new hires to report this month. <br /> Superintendent <br /> 8.2 Administrative Reports—There were no questions or comments from <br /> the Committee on these monthly reports. <br />
