There are currently 48 Mashpee students <br /> attending Cape Cod Tech. <br /> 8.4 out-of=School_Suspensions —,April out-of-school suspensions reflected <br /> the following: Grade 7, 1; Grade 8, 1; Grade 9, ; Grade 10, o; Grade 11, 3; <br /> Grade 12- 8. <br /> 8 <br /> . fust_flay of School,.-�- June 1 — Motion made Mrs. hook, <br /> seconded by Mrs. Mills, to have Thursday, ,lune 17, 2004 as,the last day of <br /> school for the 2003-2004 school year. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.6 Hid School Graduation Date—June 12, —Motion made by Mrs. <br /> Cook, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to have high school graduation on Saturday, <br /> .lune 12, 2004. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 8.7 High School Graduation Guidelines — Mr. Brown updated the <br /> Committee on the upcoming graduation preparations. Arrangements have been <br /> made for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony depending on weather <br /> conditions. <br /> The following two agenda items were moved up so presenters could leave the <br /> meeting if they wished. <br /> 8.13 Washington, D.C. Trip -- Steve Babbitt — Mr. Babbitt and Brian Hyde <br /> addressed the Committee on this year's Washington, I . C. trip by 149 Grade <br /> students. Mr. Babbitt called the trip a "journey of a lifetime." He thanked <br /> chaperones Superintendent Trish Parolski,i, Lindsay Kett, Marianne Devine, <br /> Mary Durham, Dick Corsi, Dari Lapoint, Kelly Berrios, Matt Triverl, Re a <br /> Melby, and Ed Furtek for their assistance and support. <br /> Three students read aloud their thoughts and remembTances of the trip. They <br /> were: Brian West, Brianna Pina, and Danielle Stewart who expressed their <br /> sincere thank and appreciation for being allowed the opportunity to go on this <br /> trip. <br /> 8.11 Preparation and Distribution of Potassium Iodide-1,=3ealth Department <br /> Health Agent Glen Harrington described the need to have in place a policy that <br /> would"address the public concern regarding pro imity of Barnstable County to <br /> a nuclear power generated facility and the possibility of a release of radioactive <br /> materials." He explained that "in accordance with Chapter.425 of the Acts of <br /> 2002 (Amendments to Section 5K of Chapter 111 of the General Laws), the <br /> Town of 1shpee's governing body has voted to accept the stockpiling of <br /> thyro id-blocking agents." <br />
