} <br /> MASRP E SCHOOL COM ITTEE-- ANNUAL"'RETREAT""EAT"—AUGUST 19, 2004 FACE 2 <br /> • A parent had sent a letter to Mrs. Cook regarding the new student parking policy as voted upon at <br /> their June 2, 2004 meeting. It was decided that there would be no changes to the policy as written. <br /> • Quashnet School Nurse — Mrs. Parolsl i explained that Maureen Scozzari has applied for a <br /> Department of Education certification therefore a waiver has been requested. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded b Mrs. Lopez, to appoint Maureen Scozzari at the Quashnet <br /> School Nurse. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> • Leisure Services._Updates — Mrs. Lopez, Mrs. Deis, and Mrs. Pa.rolsl i discussed on-going leisure <br /> services issues including user fees. <br /> Mrs. Mills suggested requesting a monthly accounting of leisure service facility usage fees as well as <br /> an accounting of summer fees collected. Mrs. Parolsl i will be in contact with Mr. Frederick and ask <br /> him to bring these requests to the monthly Leisure Services meeting. <br /> • October Annual Town Meeting Article for Equity/Compliance Officer—Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Pa.rolsl i <br /> attended the Selectmen's meeting where it was decided to defer this position until the May 2005 <br /> Town Meeting. <br /> Discussion followed on the School Resource Officer which will be voted upon at the October Town <br /> Meeting. <br /> There was a recess at 10:35 a.m. <br /> The"retreat"reconvened at 10:45 a.m. <br /> • School Committee 2004-2005 Coals — Mrs. Parolski presented the Administrative goals as set this <br /> week at the Administrative"retreat". They were: To increase academic achievement;to improve the <br /> effectiveness of communication systems; to appropriately support technology for student learning as <br /> well as staff job performance;and to foster positive school climate. <br /> After discussion, the School Committee endorsed the above-mentioned goals and will revisit at the <br /> October School Committee meeting once they have been discussed further by the administrators. <br /> School Facilities Update — Brad Tripp — Salol Facilities Supervisor Brad Fripp updated the <br /> Committee on the status of the condition of all schools. The cleaning and waxing of the floors is <br /> complete,the fields are in good shape,the irrigation repairs have been completed,the lighting retrofit <br /> is complete with a few exceptions but will be ready by the time school starts on September 7th. <br /> Other—Mrs. Cook asked to have one School Committee member at the "New w Teacher Orientation" <br /> session on August 25 1h t 10:00 a.m. in the high school auditorium. <br /> Mrs. Lopez asked to have the handout on the Automated External Defibrillator Checklist attached to <br /> the current A D'policy. <br />
