Update on Search for Superintendent and Business Administr tor—NES —Mrs. Cook <br /> gave an overview of the recent bid opening results for the Superintendent search. She said New <br /> England School Development Council I TBS B was selected as the consultant to conduct the <br /> search. Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve N-ESDEC as the <br /> consulting company. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Cook said a Superintendent Search workshop conducted by NESDEC has been scheduled <br /> prior to the October 20, 2004 School Committee finance meeting commencing at :00 p.m. in the <br /> Quashnet School Library. <br /> Mrs. Cook asked to have Committee members review the Business Administrators' applications. <br /> It was decided that liths. Cook and Mrs.Mills will serve as representatives. <br /> Mrs. Cook also asked Mrs. Ferguson to identify and encumber funds for the Superintendent <br /> search. <br /> 12. other—Mrs. Parolski discussed her telephone conversation with Deputy Police Chief Al Todlno <br /> wherein be informed her no cities or towns in Massachusetts received funding for School <br /> Resource Officers for those grants submitted by May 19, 2004. He said if the School Department <br /> could fund$11,73 8, the Police Department would match that amount and fund a Resource officer <br /> from January 2005 to June 30, 2005. luring FY , the Police Department would fully fund this <br /> position. <br /> Mr. Thomas stressed the need to have a School Resourceff ieer'irr media.t ly. He said that is his <br /> "number one priority." <br /> Mrs. Parolski updated the Committee regarding her meeting with Department ofPublic Works <br /> s <br /> Director Greg Taylor and Coombs School Principal Louise Boyle on the Coombs School parking <br /> lot project. In that meeting Mr. Taylor said that per Town Manager Joyce Mason the School <br /> Department would be responsible for $50,000 for design services. lairs. Cook took exception to <br /> this stance as she referred to Article 4 of the October Town Meeting warrant which states, "...for <br /> the purpose of repair, maintenance and/or construction for roadways and parking lots, including <br /> the payment of all costs incidental and related thereto..."' Board of Selectmen liaison Don Myers <br /> will discuss with the Town Manager prior to the Selectmen"s meeting set for September 2 7h. <br /> 13.
