MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—FINANCE MEETING—SEPTEMBER 22,2004 PAGE 2 <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Deis, seconded by Mrs.Mills,to approve budget transfer <br /> #05-02-80 in the amount of$162,216.00 <br /> VOTE; Unanimous <br /> . High School burse — Motion made by Mrs. Reis, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to approve the <br /> appointment of Judith A. Dupont to become the I ashpee High School,nurse effective September <br /> 2 , 2004. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> . Chancery SMS—Sean Moroney ney—Network Administrator Sean Moroney once again addressed <br /> the Committee regarding the purchase of Chancery SIMS software for the school system. To <br /> install throughout the system, a total cost of $42,000 would be required, however, discussion <br /> followed on installing one school at a time. <br /> 7. Parent mmunity Forum — Mrs. Cook reiterated the idea of an informal forum to discuss <br /> school issues and processes. Mrs. Mills suggested liths. Cook and Mrs. Parolski meet to decide <br /> upon three dates to hold these forums. These dates will be discussed at the October 6ffi regular <br /> meeting. ` <br /> S. School Committee Meeting Locations—QS Library vs. QS Cafetorium—Mrs.Parolski met <br /> with Selectman Don Myers to discuss the possibility of obtaining funding to upgrade/install the <br /> necessary wiring, etc. to have live broadcasts of School Committee meetings. Mr.Myers' <br /> thought was to hold thein in the cafetorium t l ccommodate a larger crowd while Mrs. Reis <br /> suggested holding the meetings in the Town Hall Selectmen's Meeting Room. After some <br /> ,discussion it was decided to remain in the Quashnet School Library and have a video made for <br /> each meeting and run on a tape delay. <br /> Mrs. Cook asked to bear from the Coombs School PTO for the following request: <br /> 10. ICC Entrance Sign—PTO—Mrs. Parolski discussed the need for a sign replacement to the <br /> entrance ofthe Coombs School. 'The PTO has requested a School Committee approval for the <br /> installation of this sign once the proper permits,etc. are in place. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr.Thomas, to approve the PTO Kenneth C. Coombs <br /> School sign at its entrance on old Barnstable Load. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 91 AYP Deport-Mrs. Parolski explained the Adequate Pearly Progress(APP)Deport stating that <br /> APP, a method used in the "No Child Deft. Behind" Act which is measured through the MCAS <br /> exam. She said that as a district Mashpee met AYP but there were three sub-groups that did not. <br /> These sub-groups were: special education students in the Quashnet School inEnglish; special <br /> education students in the high school in math; and students who partake of the free and reduced <br /> lunch program. Mrs. Parol ski said the schools would take measures to improve these scores. <br /> Mrs. Parolski said there will be an MCAS parent meeting to be held on Monday, October 4, 2004 <br /> t 630 p.m. <br />
