FY06 Budget Update—Mr. Roche said the school department is proceeding along with- <br /> an FY06 budget figure,of$17,794,293. Town Meeting will be held on Monday,May ,{ <br /> 2005 for-vter{approval. <br /> . Status of:Grants;-RevoIving Ae nunt -and Lunch Pr gra m — Mr. Roche updated the'." <br /> Committee -on,the above stating th fiJ nch program is reflecting a revolving ae unV1,,,, <br /> balance of$195,258.34. <br /> . 'Text Adoption — Mrs. Par l ki announced with special thanks to Scott Foresman <br /> students at the Coombs and Quashnet Schools will be using brand new textbooks <br /> replacing those used over the past 16 years. Scott Foresman will replace the English <br /> textbooks for a total of$99,994 which is part of the English/Language Arts curriculum <br /> revision. In additional, Scott Foresman has offered Mashpee Public Schools a total of <br /> $202,445 in bonus and supplemental materials. In exchange for this extremely generous <br /> offer, Mashpee Schools will become a demonstration site for the new textbooks. <br /> Teachers from other districts wi11 be able to Borne and examine the materials. <br /> Mrs. P rolski gave kudos to Englisb/Language Arts Coordinator Ann English for her <br /> efforts in obtaining this "deal"with Scott Foresman. The "basic package" will consist of <br /> basic textbooks and teacher guides. The `extra package' includes supplemental <br /> materials, intervention materials for students who are at risk of falling behind in English, <br /> pre-kindergarten materials, and software that tracks students' progress as well ason-line <br /> testi ng. <br /> 7. Other—There was no discussion under"Other"this evening. <br /> i <br /> i8. Executive Session—Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Lopez, to move into <br /> executive session at 6:57 p. . for the purpose of negotiations and personnel. <br /> Roll Call Vote: In favor — Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Lopez, Mrs. Mills, and Mr. Thomas; <br /> opposed—none. <br /> 9.
