MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR M EETfNG JUNE 1, 2005 Minute Attendees: Chairman Janice Mills, Mollie Reis, and MaryRose Grady. Peter Thomas was absent this evening. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Patricia Par lski and School Business Administrator Peter- Roche. 1. Call Meeting f irs. Executive Session Motion made by Mrs. Grady, seconded by Mrs. Reis,to move:.46to executive session at :1 for the purpose f negotiations and personnel. Roll Call Vote: In favor— Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Reis, and Mrs. Grady; opposed — none. The regular meeting reconvened at 7:05 p.m. Mrs. Mills moved up the next feu items on the agenda because presenters were in the audience. 11.1 New School Committee Member - Mrs. hills announced Mrs. Becky Romkey as the School Committee's recommendation to complete the one-year tern filling Mrs. Cook's position. Motion made by Mrs. Grady, seconded by Mrs. Reis, to recommend Becky Romkey as the School Committee's selection to become the fifth member of the Committee for one year. VOTE: Unanimous Mrs. Mills announced the appointment ofMr. Jeff'bees(currently the Qu ashnt School Assistant Principal)as the new Quashnet School Principal effective July I, 2005. On behalf of the School Committee, Mrs. Mills presented retiring Superintendent Mrs. ParoIski with a silver bowl and an orchid plant. V. Public Forum Sean O'Connor discussed his observations both as a parent and a teacher regarding the Mashpee school system. i 10.2 DC Travelers — March 20-30, 2006 — Mr. Hyde addressed the Committee stating the DC Travelers trip is still going to take place but the dates may change due to a possible conflict with the FBLA trip to New York City. Motion made by Mrs. Reis, seconded by Mrs. Brady to approve the LSC Travelers trip next year when the dates are conveniently arranged for all. VOTE: Unanimous i
