i <br /> 1ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—JULY 6, 2005 PACE <br /> other teachers to attend "Critical Friends Group" seminars and/or conferences <br /> held under the auspices of the National School Reform Faculty. <br /> .3 Letter from Myrna Nuey dated.Rune 14 —Mrs. Mills read aloud a <br /> letter from Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal Council Chair Myrna Nu y addressed <br /> to Mrs. Parolki regarding looking forward to working with Mrs. Bradshaw and <br /> Mrs. Mills during the upcoming year. <br /> V1. Communications Mr. Thomas mentioned that Chapter 70 funds reflected a per student <br /> I <br /> increase for next year in the recent "Cherry Sheet." That would show a <br /> $100,000 increase for Mashp e schools, however, although earmarked for the <br /> schools,these funds will be forwarded to the town's general fund. Mr. Thomas <br /> suggested Mrs. Bradshaw meet with the administrators and determine where <br /> this additional $100,000 should be spent keeping in mind there is a possible <br /> need for another kindergarten teacher. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. Grady, for Mrs. Bradshaw <br /> meet with the administrators and use their discretion for distribution of the <br /> Chapter 70 funds. <br /> 'COTE: Unanimous <br /> V11. Student Advisory Mr. Brown infonrned the Committee Laura Galvin will be the Student Advisory <br /> Council Council representative commencing in September 2005. <br /> At this point,Mrs. Mills welcomed aboard Ann Bradshaw as Mashpee's newly- <br /> appointed Superintendent of Schools. <br /> Mrs. Mills moved up the following agenda items due to audience participation. <br /> VH1. Report of the Karen Camp—School Year Wrap-Up Comments—Mashpee Teachers' <br /> Superintendent Association President Daren Camp addressed the Comm ittstating that on <br /> behalf of the Teachers' Association she thanked "the administrators, Mrs. <br /> Parolski, and the School Committee for their ardent efforts during the budget <br /> cuts." Her closing remarks were, "The Association acknowledges that this (the <br /> budget process) was a difficult time and due to working together as a team, <br /> results were positive." <br /> 8.7 High School Yearbook and Newspaper Publication — Cobert Wray <br /> discussed implementing a yearbook publication policy effective with the 2005- <br /> 2006 high school yearbook. He suggested, however, asking the school attorney <br /> to review prior to School Committee vote at the August meeting. <br /> 8.8 Mashvee_Hi h School Marguee Sign Usage Regulations—High School <br /> Guidance Counselor Lindsay Kett briefly outlined the regulations to be put in <br /> place for the marquee sign usage. After her presentation, a motion was trade <br /> by Mr. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. I ornkey, to approve the Mashp e High <br /> School Marquee Sign Usage Regulations as stated. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br />
