Meetings are scheduled when <br /> situations arise. <br /> 11.2.4 Boosters Club - Mr. Thomas mentioned that the Boosters Club meeting <br /> was slated for November 3, 2005 at 7:oo pill in the high school. He said <br /> that the Boosters Club has been revitalized with a great group of people. <br /> 11.2.5 Indian Education---There has been no meeting. Mrs. Bradshaw said there <br /> was a meeting scheduled for November 8 ' but this meeting was to be <br /> rescheduled. <br /> 11.2.6 Health Advisor Committee — Mrs. Grady said that the' next meeting <br /> would be scheduled for November 9, 2005 at 5:00 pm in the Quashnet <br /> School library. Also it was discussed that the district should be a peanut <br /> free provider district; which it is. Mrs. Mills would life a policy written <br /> to be presented at the next meeting regarding a peanut free district. <br /> 11.2.7 Menu Advisor Committee — Mrs. Mills stated that there has been n <br /> meeting with the Menu Advisory Committee. <br /> Linder XI. Committee Deports, item number 11.1.4 Curriculum/MCAS, Mrs. <br /> Bradshaw spoke and gave a brief overview on the MCAS Results 2005. For the most <br /> part, Mashpee is right at the state average. Two areas of outstanding improvement since <br /> the inception of MCAS in 1998, have been in grade 10 Math arnd English. Places where <br /> there has been significant improvement have been in grade Math and grade 7 ELA. 1n <br /> grade 6 math, we are actually above the state and for grade 7, we are just at about the <br /> same place. Areas that need to be strengthened include English language arts in grade 4, <br /> mathematics at grades 4, 6, and 8, and science at grade 8. Mrs. Bradshaw also stated that <br /> the most important factor in student achievement is the teacher. Teachers creed time to <br /> get together and collaborate, which improves learning. Teachers also need more <br /> Professional Development days. Also small class size in another important way to <br /> ensure that students receive the attention they need to be successful learners. She is <br /> confident that we are going to be able to raise student achievement and is proud of the <br /> progress the district has made on the MCAS. <br /> XII. other <br /> Mrs. Romkey stated that the PTO was sponsoring a fund raiser at the school for a <br /> V-35,000.00 motorcycle. <br /> Mrs. Romkey also thanked the administrators on the success of the first Coffee <br /> Hour which was held on October 11, 2005. Roughly, about eighteen parents <br /> attended this gathering. Many various concerns were expressed and addressed at <br /> the high school level. A suggestion was brought up on having a more aggressive <br /> curriculum developed with more AP courses being offered as well as being more <br />
