w <br /> iASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETfNG—DECEMBER 7, 2005 PAGE <br /> 8.7 Early Fe lease — in order to provide more professional <br /> development time for elementary teachers, Mrs. Bradshaw discussed a proposal <br /> to hold three half-day professional development sessions in early 2006. The <br /> days would be for the Coombs School and Quashnet School only and fall on <br /> Monday, February ; Monday, March ; and Monday, April 3, 2006. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw said she has received cooperation from Leisure Services and the <br /> Boys&Girls Club for afternoon programming for students. <br /> motion was made by Mr. Thomas, seconded by Mrs. Foml ey, to approve the <br /> request for three half-day sessions. <br /> VOTE:E: Unanimous <br /> 8.8 FY07 Budget — Mrs. Bradshaw said the budget sub-committee will <br /> meet on December 8, 2005. The Town Manager has requested a level services <br /> budget for FY . Mrs. Bradshaw recommended a public hearing set during the <br /> regular January 4, 2006 School Committee meeting. <br /> 8.9 School Presentation — Coombs School — Mrs. Doyle introduced <br /> Integrated Arts teachers I a ien Gould and Margie Mitchell who presented <br /> photographs of past events as well as a quick summary ofeverts that took place <br /> in the Coombs School this year. <br /> 8.10 P.F.I.I .E. Program — Mrs. Bradshaw described the Partnership, <br /> Responsibility, Independence, Decisions, and Education P.F.I.I .E. program <br /> Grade 5 program that will tale place over the course ofeight weeps. Each <br /> period will be 45 minutes. School Resource Officer Lisa Hettinger will be the <br /> instructor of this program which is taught in conjunction with the Mashpee <br /> Police Department. <br /> .l l Cape Cod Children's Museum Survey — Mrs. Bradshaw explained the <br /> Cape Cod Children's Museum has received a grant from the institute of <br /> Museum and Library Services to create a new exhibit to celebrate and learn <br /> about Cape Cod. The Museum's Board of Directors would like to administer <br /> the survey to Grade 3 students and teachers. Mrs. Grady suggested the i <br /> language be simplified for students ofthis age to comprehend. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Grady, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to give the survey to <br /> the Grade 3 students and teachers with simplified language. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> IX. Specifically Assigned/ .l Cape Li ght Compact—Mrs. Mi11s addressed this issue stating that she <br /> Unfinished Business informed the Town Manager that students will not be taping the materials <br /> regarding the Cape Light Compact home in their backpacks. Father, the <br /> materials will be available in Town Hall. <br />
