iAKHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE---WORKSHOP AND REGULAR ULA MEETING—OCTOBER 4, 2006 <br /> PAGE <br /> 9.7 Blue Ribbon Committee and the Schools — Mrs. Bradshaw <br /> explained this committee requested to meet with Mashpee teachers to <br /> discuss curriculum that address water conservation and quality. Mrs. <br /> Bradshaw reported on a meeting that was recently held with the Blue <br /> Ribbon Committee, science teachers and herself. The Science Pair will have <br /> water as its theme this year. Mr. Myers said one senior expressed interest in <br /> recycling program and global warning projects. <br /> X. Specifically Assigned/ Referring back to the personnel issues: <br /> Unfinished Business <br /> motion was made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve <br /> Katie Lupo's maternity leave request. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Discussion followed regarding the Confidential Administrative Assistant to <br /> the School Business Administrator and Director ofCurriculum, Instruction <br /> and Assessment. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to table Mrs. <br /> annan's request to become the Confidential Administrative Assistant to the <br /> School Business Administrator and Director ofCurriculum, Instruction and <br /> Assessment. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Thomas, to approve Mr. <br /> Mic li's request to postpone his retirement request for one year(.lune 2008). <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mr. Thomas reported on a policy sub-committee meeting that was held this <br /> afternoon regarding energy management in the schools. In the drafted <br /> policy, there is wording that would allow the maintenance staff to set <br /> temperatures during the seasons as required. <br /> Mr. Brown thanked Mr. Tripp for his work in devising this very inclusion <br /> policy. <br /> XI. New Business There was no discussion for"New Business." <br /> XII. Committee Reports 12.1 Sub-Committee Reports <br /> 12.1.1 Negotiations — Mrs. Grady said these preliminary discussions are <br /> underway. Unit A session is set for October 1 01h. <br /> I .I.2 Policy — Mr. Thomas previously discussed the energy policy which <br /> will be included in the School Committee finance meeting(October <br /> 18") packet for a first-read. <br />
