i <br /> r <br /> 1 ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE-Regular Meeting-JANUARY 4, 2006 Page 2 <br /> she highlighted some of the events that were held during the month of December which <br /> included the 4h edition of the Newspaper being distributed, resentatior of some senior <br /> Projects, final SAT's taken by seniors, Tv production fundraiser held, financial aid <br /> meeting for 11t' and 12 graders, issuance of second term progress reports, blood drive <br /> through the rational Honor Society, Fall Awards Sports light, and completion of the <br /> FELA fundraisers, were some of the events that took place during the month. <br /> Iv. Public Hearing on Proposed FY 07 Budget <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw stated that tonight was the opportunity for the School Committee <br /> members to present their proposed budget for FY 07 which was done through a Power <br /> Point presentation as well as a detailed presentation given by Mrs. Bradshaw which <br /> began at 7;25 p.m. <br /> A very thorough and informative presentation was given b firs. Bradshaw in regards to <br /> the proposed budget. Mrs. Bradshaw mentioned that if'there were any questions in <br /> regards to the budget or if anyone would like a copy of the presentation that was <br /> presented, to please contact her or see her directly. <br /> She stated that she had a few copies of the budget with her and that they would be put out <br /> to the public on Friday and copies would be available at her office and the Ma hpee <br /> public library. The budget is complicated and is prepared in a l funis computer program <br /> with codes and numbers for each of the three schools. The School Committee will have <br /> the final vote on the budget on. February 1, Zoo , and the Town will vote on the budget <br /> on May 1, 2006 at Town Meeting. <br /> Peter Roche at this point, presented line by line, the budget categories which were listed <br /> on the Summary Page which was given to each committee member, where he compared <br /> the amounts under the 2006 original budget column to the proposed FY 07 column. He <br /> mentioned that it is fairly complicated and copies would be made available to anyone <br /> interested in obtaining one. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw mentioned that if anyone had any questions or concerns, to please stop in <br /> her office and she would be happy to sit down and discuss any aspect of the proposed <br /> budget. She thanked all the people involved who worked with her in the preparation of <br /> the FY 07 budget draft. <br /> After the presentation was completed, Mrs. Hills stated thatart of the Public Hearin is <br /> p g <br /> to take any questions from opponents and/or proponents first from the members of the <br /> School Committee present.
