I IAS PEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—JUNE 7, 2006 PAGE <br /> 10.11 Out-of-State Trip — Providence, —A request was made for grade <br /> 7 students to travel to Providence, R1 and visit the IMAX Theater. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Romkey, to approve theout- <br /> of-state travel to Providence, R1. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 10.12 Pre-pay Out-of-District Tuition — Mgrs. Bradshaw asked the <br /> Committee to consider prepaying out-of-district tuition for FY2007. She <br /> said prepaying a portion ofthe ` 7 out-of-district tuition costs is an <br /> allowable expenditure that can serve as a buffer against unexpected <br /> extraordinary expenses in '07. She recommended the C6mmittee vote to <br /> approve pre-payment of special education tuition for '07 not to exceed <br /> 21 0,000 to cone from circuit breaker funds. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Romkey, to approve Mrs. <br />' Bradshaw's above recommendation. <br /> VOTE; Unanimous <br /> 10.13 Rubbish Removal Contract Award — Mr. Roche recommended the <br /> Committee vote to approve Casella waste Services from East Sandwich as <br /> the new rubbish removal company. Their services would begin on July 1, <br /> 2006—June 30, 2009. The three-year breakdown for their services is as <br /> follows: FY07 - $21,901.22; FY08; 21,901.22; $21,901.22 totaling <br /> $65,703.66. Mrs. Grady expressed concerns regarding contracting with <br /> Casella waste Services due to previous.experience while she served on the <br /> Board ofHealth. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. 1on.key, to accept Casella <br /> Waste Services as the new rubbish removal contractor. <br /> VOTE; Unanimous <br /> 10.14 Update on FY06 Bud A ri.Z M. -- During last month's <br /> meeting, Finance Committee member Chuck Gasior questioned Mr. Roche <br /> on why did the month of April showed 74% of the budget expended while <br /> May reflected 70%. After researching, Mr. Roche said there were some <br /> "system issues in April" and some postings that had not been done in April. <br /> These issues are now resolved and Mr. Roche Inas spoken to Mr. Gasior. <br /> 10.15 Revised 2006#2007 School Calendar — The original calendar was <br /> changed due to the addition of early release days and parent/teacher <br /> conferences. The revised calendar indicates these dates. <br /> 10.16 Mid-Cygle Program Ryi — Mrs. Bradshaw and Mrs. Beaudin <br /> informed the Committee that on June 13`h and June 1 members from the <br /> Department ofEducation will visit the special education department t <br /> review records and interview staff. <br />
