MASHPEE SCHOOL C OMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING-,DUNE 7, 2006 PACE 6 <br /> 10.6 Student Handbook -2006-2007 — Coombs School — Mrs. Romley <br /> said this was a draft version where early release tines need to be added a <br /> reflected in the revised 2006-2007 school calendar, Also, more discussion <br /> n stricter discipline on busses reeds to be addressed. This document will <br /> be voted on at the July regular meeting. <br /> 10.7 Strategic Plan — First Read — Mrs. Bradshaw included the vision <br /> Statement and Strategic Plan in the palet. , She­'dis ussed the responses <br /> from Strategic Plan committee members received so far. This document <br /> will be voted upon at the,duly meeting. <br /> 10.8 Independence House Initiative — Beverly Costa-Ciavolla from <br /> Independence Douse attended the meeting discuss the Memorandum of <br /> Agreement drawn up between them and 11 ashpee Public Schools. She <br /> explained their need to establish a formal relationship with the school <br /> department. The Centers for Disease Control requires this agreement as <br /> soon as possible. It was decided that Mrs. Grady, Mrs. Mills and Mrs. <br /> Romkey will meet to discuss different wording in the Memorandum of <br /> Agreement. <br /> 10.9 Math Curriculum Revision—High School math teacher Marls Fiegel <br /> gave a Power Point presentation regarding this curriculum which is based <br /> upon power standards for all content areas from pre-algebra through <br /> calculus. The revision includes benchmark assessments, content for college <br /> prep E, college prep A, math lab and honors levels. The textbook series <br /> which the math department has requested to use is by McDougal I-Little. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Romkey, seconded by Mr. McNamara, to approve the <br /> math curriculum revision. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Math Curriculum Coordinator Joy Blackwood explained the Power <br /> Standards, Secondary Standards, and Assessments used in the revised <br /> elementary math curriculum. <br /> 10.1 o Foreig Lri Lange Curriculum Revision — Mr. Brown discussed the <br /> foreign language standards and foreign language students' learning <br /> expectations upon with the foreign language revision was based. French, <br /> Latin and Spanish will all utilize these standards and expectations from <br /> course one through course five. Students will receive benchmark <br /> assessments. Spanish courses will be using a new textbook series from Dolt <br /> Rhinehart. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. McNamara, to approve the <br /> foreign language curriculum revision. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br />
