MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—SEPTEMBER EMB , 2006 PATE <br /> i <br /> Mr. Thomas requested to have the financial breakdown onpaper before <br /> voting on this position. Mrs. Bradshaw will provide this information. <br /> i <br /> 8.6 AYP Re ort — Mrs. Bradshaw explained the Annual Yearly <br /> Progress report as follows. <br /> Quashnet School - the AYP determinations for English Language Arts <br /> LA are for grades 3 and 4. In 2006, the AYP target was not met for the <br /> school-wide population. Therefore, because all subgroups have not made <br /> AYP for four years, the Quashnet School is identified for Corrective Action <br /> in subgroups. In Mathematics, the Quashnet School is Identified for <br /> Improvement in subgroups because in 2006, our low income students <br /> subgroup did not make the AYP. <br /> High School — English LanguageArts — AYP includes grades 8 and 10. <br /> The accountability result in ELA is No Status, meaning the school made <br /> AYP in ELA. <br /> Mathematics—Accountability status is Corrective Action for subgroups. In <br /> 2006, special education subgroup did not meet the AYP target. <br /> Eased on our accountability status, we are required to: <br /> • Notify parents/guardians <br /> • Revise school improvement plans based on AYP data <br /> Provide assistance with data analysis, identification and <br /> implementation of improvement strategies, and budget analysis, <br /> and implement one or more Corrective Actions <br /> Corrective Actions: <br /> • Implement a new curriculum and provide professional <br /> development <br /> • Extend learning time <br /> • Adjust school structure, staffing, and management authority <br /> • Provide outside expert advisors <br /> 8.8 Pop warner [update — Mrs. Bradshaw updated the Committee on <br /> this Pop warner project. The Committee had previously questioned where <br /> this scoreboard would be placed at the Quashnet School. She said it will be <br /> located off the roadway between the Quashnet School and the Coombs <br /> School. <br /> Ix, Specifically Assigned/ Mir. Thomas noted the school department's web site is shown a "Under <br /> Unfinished Business Construction"and asked to update it as soon as possible. <br /> X.
