y -F <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE—REGULAR MEETING—DECEMBER 6, 2006 FAGS <br /> 8.6 Senior Project — Trip-to Ireland JChantal Eryatmaz — Senior <br /> Chantal Eryatmaz presented her senior project to the Committee — a trip to <br /> Ireland for herself and approximately 50 of her classmates. Her objective is <br /> to focus on education, and experience first-hand another culture, including <br /> the possibilities of studying abroad. After some discussion, the Committee <br /> members expressed a desire not to get involved in this senior project due to <br /> legal liability issues and it being a school-sanctioned trip. <br /> Motion made by firs. Mills, seconded by Mr. McNamara, to not approve <br /> the out-of-state senior project request from Chantal Eryatm z. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> ,7 Missoula Children's Theatre - BobTip o and Stere Innis — Mr. <br /> Tippo and Mr. Innis outlined the upcoming production of "The Kittle <br /> Mermaid."aid." Rehearsals take place next week with performances during the <br /> weekend of December 16"' and 17"' <br /> .9 Roy Ricci Donation — Mrs. Bradshaw introduced Nor. Roy Ricci, a <br /> local business owner who donated $2,000 towards upgrading the Quashnet <br /> School security system. <br /> V11, Parent Teacher Coombs School PTO President Liz Hendricks updated the Committee on the <br /> Organization latest "happenings" of the PTO which included the following: the recent <br /> Fashion Slow raised approximately , o- , o; each teacher was given <br /> 100 to purchase supplies for their classrooms; Casino dight is slated for <br /> March; and the Book Fair will provide oo vouchers for families that <br /> cannot afford books. <br /> 8.10 High._School - _drool Improvement Plan — Principal Lou Ann St. <br /> Cyr, Suzanne A. tges, Brian Hyde, Kari LaPoint, and Mark F iegel all <br /> addressed the Committee regarding the 2006-2008 School Improvement <br /> Plan. Mr. F iegel addressed the overview of Program Improvement Mapping <br /> (PIM); Ms. LaP int discussed "Open Response Question scores increase by <br /> 10%; Mr. Hyde, 15% increase in passing of students within groups (students <br /> pith disabilities, Native Americans and low income); Ms.. A. tges, 10% <br /> increase in exam participation gate and % increasing passing rate. <br /> Ms. Avtges noted that ars increase to the school budget to fund the cost of <br /> P exams -for all AP students is requested in the FY08 budget. <br /> 1r . St. Cyr thanked the above presenters for the hard wont and dedication <br /> they gave to School Improvement project. <br /> 11.1.3.2. Budget Messages -Coombs School, Quashnet School, 1 lashpee <br /> High School, Mashpee Teachers' association — Mrs. St. Cyr addressed the <br /> Committee with Mashpee Pugh School's FY08 budget requests.
