w <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE MITTEE REGULAR AND FINANCE MEETfNG—MARCH 7, 2007 <br /> PAGE 2 <br /> .2 "Boston Globe" Scholastic ,Art Awards—Mrs. Grady acknowledged <br /> Chris Allen (Grade 12) who won a silver key for his ceramic dragon <br /> gargoyle sculpture and Celia Catald (Grade 1 and Catie Furbush who <br /> both received honorable mentions for their cubistic collages. <br /> 5.3 Letter from Jaya Bush regarding Valentine's Luncheon — Mrs. <br /> Bradshaw read aloud a thank you letter from J6an Bush, a senior citizen in <br /> Mashpee, who attended the Valentine's Day Luncheon sponsored by the <br /> seniors at the high school. <br /> 1, Communications School Committee member Peter Thomas announced his resignation from <br /> the School Committee after serving on it for -112 }mars. His resignation <br /> will be effective May 1, 2007. <br /> Mrs. Grady mentioned a letter she received from Brian Kennedy regarding <br /> the high school entrance and exits. <br /> Also, Mrs, Grady said she received a letter from Brian Janedy regarding <br /> moving the daily start time at the high school to 9:20 a.m. <br /> SII. St ent dv1sury Student Advisory Council representative Rachel Thomas reported the <br /> Council following events at the high school: academics are going well; a scholarship <br /> is being established in memory of Rhiannon M Cuish; sprint sports are <br /> beginning; D.C. Travelers are heading to Washington, D. C. on March 1 <br /> while the F.B.L.A. travel to New York on March 27"'; the Ski Club leaves <br /> n March ; National Honor Society Induction ceremony in slated for <br /> March 26`h at 7:00 p.m.; the performance of"Annie" will be on March 3 01h <br /> and March 1"; and Senior Project Exhibition Night set for April 3d. Miss <br /> Thomas attended the BizWiz conference in Hyannis this week. <br /> Mrs. Grady and Mrs. Bradshaw met with the Student Council this afternoon. <br /> It was decided that Mrs.. Mills will represent the School Committee at future <br /> meetings between the Student Council and Committee. <br /> V11I. Parent Teacher Mrs. Romkey said Mrs. Liz Hendricks was unable to attend tonight's <br /> Organization meeting because thea was a Monte Carlo Dight meeting. This fundraiser <br /> will take place at will wbend on March 30. <br /> Also, the Post Prom fundraiser at Quashnet Valley Country Club will take <br /> place on March 17th . <br /> Ix. Special Education Parent Kim Baker represented the S P C this evening. She reported on <br /> Parent Advisory their meeting held in February which included topics of: l development of <br /> Council SPS a parent survey; 2 brochure for SEPAC parents; their by-laws were revised <br /> and voted upon; there will be a parent training session on March 29th; <br /> elections will take place in April; developing a special award for teachers <br /> during Teacher Appreciation week. <br />
