MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> FINANCE MEETING <br /> May 24, 2007 <br /> Minutes <br /> I <br /> I <br /> Attendees: Chairman Maryl ose Grady, Becky Romkey, Janice Mills, Richard Bailey <br /> and Ralph Marcelli. Also in attendance were Superintendent of Schools Ann Bradshaw <br /> and School Business Administrator Ira Brown. <br /> I. Call Meeting to order- firs. Grady called the School Committee Finance <br /> meeting to order at 6;40 p.m. in the Quashnet School library. <br /> Mrs. Grady welcomed the new School Committee members, Mr. Bailey and Mr. <br /> NIarlli. <br /> There was discussion to ensure that all school committee meetings are taped. <br /> II. Business Administrator's Report- <br /> Mr. Bron reported that through May 17, 2007, the M shpee School Department <br /> has utilized 82.7% of the FY07 appropriation budget. Mr. Brown, in conunction <br /> with the principals and directors has been closing open purchase orders. As well <br /> principals and directors have prioritized their spending needs for the remainder of <br /> the year which will help erase negative balances in several cost centers. IIS <br /> Mr. Brown attended the last meeting of the Wellness Committee. As well, <br /> lighting has been installed in Kenneth C. Coombs School. The district is using <br /> the new software to process Medicaid reimbursements for Special Education <br /> Services. The school is developing knowledge of the process. The wind turbine <br /> survey application has been approved by the Board of Selectman. Mr. Brown <br /> also stated that according to Town Manager, Mrs. Mason, if any damage occurs to <br /> a van at a driver's home, then the driver's homeowners insurance is first in line to <br /> cover the cost of repair followed by the town's policy. <br /> Mrs. Grady stated that she had also checked into the insurance, and that the <br /> information she had received regarding the insurance was different. She stated <br /> that she had been informed that as long as the employee has permission to take <br /> that vehicle home, then the town policy would cover first. <br /> Mrs. Mills asked Mr. Brown about Medicaid reimbursement and how much had <br /> been received so far Vere was discussion about hove much would he received <br /> all together. Mr. Brown stated that so far the first quarter had been completed, <br /> and more was expected. <br />
